I think Kai nailed it on the head boys. I love some cars for their soul, the great things about them, and even their shortcomings! Cars that have these personalities just make them just so much more enjoyable. Sure, my supra has been down for a year, but the very fact is, i would take my supra over any exotic car, any good daily driver in the end, for the simple fact that it has become a part of who i am.

Ever get flashbacks of a car that you saw many years ago? Well that is why I'm sure many of us love certain cars. They have impacted our lives in a positive way, so that is why they are special to us.

Imports vs domestics, who cares? In the end, we are all just brothers pursuing the passion of cars!

VERY well said Cryo......id love to own a r32, r33, or a r34. But for the cost to upkeep, go-fast parts, and etc....i cant afford one. The reason i got mad anywayz is being grouped with mullets, 80's rock, and being stupid. Dont get me wrong, if i see a built civic, mk3, or such......i'll give a thumps up or say nice car man. Sometimes they will get angry(have no clue, maybe think im jokin)

I have about 4,500 total in my car. My friend bought a 97 Z28 camaro for 6,500 that has headers, exhaust, and some other things and I stay right with him.

For him to upgrade his horsepower, he has the options of pulling his motor out and building the bottom end, throwing nitrous on it, or a super charger. All of which are risky on a stock motor with high miles and cost a lot. For that $2000 he spent extra. I have a front facing intake manifold, intercooler, long runner HKS t4 manifold, and a 67mm turbo.

Now which one is "more" cost effective? I've seen some quick ass muscle cars, and quick ass imports. Its all about Where You want to throw your money and how far you want to go to get that horsepower.

You sir are an ignorant.:icon_evil I used to own 3.5 supras(1/2 car was a parts car) and they were awesome........except two things.......BHG and parts costs. Id love to kept my 86.5 and 1jz it....but lots o money to do it. Now i own a 84 trans am that only runs 13.6's at the moment, it has a 350 sbc, th350, and a open differential. If i were to dump 2k into the car i could be running high 12's...not bad for a 1500 dollar car.....:evil2: Dont get me wrong.....mk3's look badass......but if only the parts didnt cost so fuggin much and the amt to go fast.

Seeing as i never worked on my gte car......had a big race shop in town keep doing it(ive never owned a dohc motor b4 let, alone do a hg).

Also, about the 97 camaro comment......BS flag.....if its a 6spd car, a full exhaust, intake, dr's, and naws and you can run 12.9's easily, mind you......thats roughly 800-1000 dollars....not bad http://youtube.com/watch?v=zQG6pfySkz0

im not hating on the mk3....but how much does it take to run 12's and be reliable?

know what I do? I let the car talk for me...

every guy that's talked trash has been taken down by either me or one of the fellow MKIII owners around here.

Oh, and if you think Supra's are expensive, have fun with the tranny, rearend, axles, BRAKES, and interior of your third gen... My bro had one and it was as bad of a money bit as my car...but he spent more than me and everytime I spend money it's upgraded...

not to mention the comfort level, 3rd gens are like tin cans (don't argue, they're the lightest of the F-bodies IIRC and show it in lack of sound and heat insulation...)

Yeah, I guess i'll have some fun. Im restoring it and building the entire Car, powercoating everything, Rebuilding Everything, everything new, new interior ETC ETC ETC ETC, buildnig my 385 ATM, yadda yadda, and, Re-read my post? and tell me where i said i thought supra's are expensive? Im a X supra owner of 3 years and i think the Camaro's are comfy, im 6'2 and I fit in it fine with plenty of room.

so. yeah??

i Scrapped my supra project because i didnt like the MK3 anymore

im WELL aware of the prices of both cars........

so PLEASE, Tell me your point in Posting what you did? you Technically just Degraded the Domestic's.

BOTH Domestic and Imports have their ups and downs like i said earlier. I dont own a mk3 anymore, well Technically i do i can Put a mk3 together with all the parts i have. i still like the mk3 and imports.

I dont Care for the entire Ricer/Mullet Scene bullshit, if you enjoy working on whatever you do, Amen to you

Whoa whoa whoa - yes, a thirdgen fbody can be a money pit - but so can a Civic, if you're an idiot ;)

My biggest problem with my Camaro, was the build quality. Until you get a set of subframe connectors (which the targa Supra needs as well) the Camaro will squeak and rattle something crazy :( Not to mention all the plastic is held in place with one-way-only plastic screws!

Here's a prime example of why I love my MKIII, and am willing to pay more to do the same thing to it, vs my Camaro.

Go pull the door panel from a Supra - fiberglass backing.

Go pull the door panel from a Camaro - cardboard backing (that will 70% of the time rip when you remove it)

It's little things like that, that make me appreciate the engineering in the Supra, and makes me pissed that the bean counters @ GM in the 80s were able to run rampant over the engineers :(

You speak the truth Justin!

Poodles-WTF are you talking about?
Tranny-ive got a built TH350...so thats done
Rear end-800-- to built my 10 bolt up...will hold decent hp
brakes-400-- ive got 1le brakes on order soooooo yah thats
not an issue
Interior--500--im going to convert it to 4th gen trans am interior
so stfu(mostly drop in)
Suspention--1000

So for 2700 my car will be to my exact liking and ill never look back. I like mk3's but i've always liked my f-bodies. Know why poodles? Cuz their the lightest! lol......a mk3 weights what like 4200lbs?.......my ta weights bout 3850lbs lol even with my fatass 250lbs in the ta it will still be lighter than a stock mk3!
