i don't have the timing control hooked up yet, nor the monitor. that's on my "to do" list this coming weekend, should i have enough time to do so.

Ok kool I wanted to upgrade to ver4.65 also but I was under the impression that I needed to wire up for the timing control for the 4.65 version to work in the car. There's a part throttle airfuel ratio control option on 4.65 that seems very appealing to me. Being able to disconnect the stock o2 and force the ecu into open loop and control the idle and cruise airfuel ratio is nice. Also anyone know if it needed to wire up the timing control 1st to use the above mentioned new feature?

Question for Doc J or Bob....or anyone....I'm trying to piss around with PT tracking a bit, but my idle after unplugging o2 sensor is around 10.5:1, runs 13.5 to 14.5 plugged in. Set at .44v tps, 1000 rpm. What am I missing here?

the ECU is missing the O2 feedback and therefore defaults rich.

Hmmm..guess Id like to see a write up on PT tracking setup....Bob? I thought it(M-pro) would adjust the A/F with o2 unplugged.

after unplugging the stock O2 sensor, you must enable and configure PT AFR tracking...it's similar to WOT AFR tracking....

I haven't seen it in the manual, but will unplugging the O2 sensor cause the ECU to pop a code? I haven't boosted on mine past 5 psi yet, but right now it is still working great! I have settings in for PT AFR tracking, just not using it yet...

i "think" it will, but unsure of the code, the reason i think it will is because it will no longer operate in closed loop with the o2 sensor unplugged. so it's in open loop, (where the ecu is using data tables stored on the ecu rom)

and doing this make it so you can adjust fuel from idle, start up and cruise wot.. personaly it's to much control for me. and i wish i could fix my closed loop operation

I found that with my plx m300 wide band I didn't need the stock o2 becuase the plx has an output for both wide and narrow band. you just hook the wide band output up to the maft-pro and then hook the narrow band output to the ecu and bam. no need to mess with part throttle very much or to try to tune around the open loop settings of the ecu. works well maft-pro reads same a/f's as wide band is saying and they're not even grounded to gether. couldn't get the wb ground on the maft-pro to ground out my plx so I just used a body ground.

the ONLY time you disconnect the stock O2 sensor is when have the following:

-a WB connected to the MAFT pro
-the MAFT pro properly tuned
-part throttle AFR tracking enabled

in your case, YES the stock O2 needs to be plugged in.

Actually, you could unplug it so the car would stay in open loop all the time.

But without a wideband, you would be tuning in the dark...

Running 4.80 here :) Other than a newly surging idle, no problems to speak of - need to get my ZT-2 back before I start really playing with it :(

im running 4.8 aswell, ive had problems gettin decent tune out of mine for awhile,

well i decided to solder the connections to my ecu, and found my tps one looked loose, but their all connected with solder now.
i was actualy able to get a decent afr for most the night, and had some decent power.. running 11.2 wot @10psi..

although i have the stock o2 removed, and i haven't quite figured out the part throttle tracking, but i have decent numbers so far. and it's getting better as i make little adjustments.
