Actually quite a few things which just happen to share common required disassembling.

1. Replace b pillar louvers (snapped ds one off washing it right before Centralia last year)
2. Upgrade fuel pump wiring to 12 gauge and install MKIV pump
3. Remove all body and window trim to touch up paint job

Started out just planning to do the fp, but I wanted to run it with the stock wiring which goes through the interior. I also wanted to replace the B pillars which requires taking out the b pillar interior paneling which is overlapped by the pannels beside the rear seat which ...... so naturally its smart to do both at once and remove the interior only once. I have also wanted to touch up the paint since I got the car, also requires rear interior out so might as well do it.

4. while Im at it, replace wing and tail light gaskets
5. Remove reflective paint from taillight center section.
6. Clean everything.
7. Im also contemplating doing a battery relocation but haven't decided yet.
8. I know I will think of something while Im at it.... maybe put my 6.5 pods in the front?

So thats the progression of my thinking to get to this point,

Oh and I guess ACT is dropping the ball and every supra clutch they make has been on back order for the last month and a half with no estimated ship time

I'v had to work quite a bit this week but I got a little bit more done tonight. I have alot of prep work ahead of me.

Looking good. I would highly recommend just getting high quality 5-1/4" speakers in the front. In order to do it right it will take a ridiculous amount of work (unless someone is selling some sort of kit I'm unaware of). Hopefully this will get me motivated soon lol.

Got a couple days off and have made some progress but I have been slacking on pics. Here the last I took. I got the spoiler off, check out all the shit that has accumulated under there. Also pulled her out and gave her a good wash.

Luise, let me know if your ever heading up or want to, plenty to help with and your always welcome to crash in the spare bedroom at our new place. Once I get to the fuel upgrades we will have to do some more tuning so I will definitely let you know when I get there. Its too tedious with only one person

Not an exciting update by any means but got all the dirt washed off and some more things stripped. Im working the next 8 days and then am going on a week vacation so I see many a late night in my future if I want to make it to nationals. More to come (hopefully soon)

Sadly Delilah wont be making the trip to Pac NW Nationals this year. I decided its not worth rushing things and risking the final outcome to make it. Even if I had put in a few all nighters and got it into the booth the paint wouldnt have enough time to cure before the trip and I would risk chips from rocks or even bugs.

Started Wet sanding though and even got the wife into the garage to help :love:

No exciting progress to report, just many long hours of uneventful wet sanding. I did a little body work today. I had a very small ding right in my line of site on the hood that has always bugged me. I think the previous owner tried to shut the hood with a tool left sticking out and raised the edge a bit. After tapping it out I had a small dimple probably only a few thou but enough to reflect light, a bit of filler and primer fixed it right up. My goal is to finish wet sanding the entire car tomorrow so hopefully I can start shooting some base color on Tuesday. Then off to Camano island for a few days before heading up to Pac NW Nationals. Should be ready to go into the booth within the week once I get back

So I coerced my wife to help me get the car ready and push it out and wash it while I was at work today. I forgot it had no outside handles for her to open it and take off the e-brake. I described the arm that attaches to the lock mechanism and instructed her to push it down. She said it went down but the door didnt open. She finally got it but I just got home and took a look and she bent the rod :(. I have a spare and I know she was just trying to help so no big deal, but I cant figure out how to get the damn thing off! Can anyone please describe how to get it out

Ya she gets a little wild ;)

Im also having trouble getting the drip molding off the targa and front pillars, anyone done it? The TSRM shows a special tool, is there something else that works?

Update

Shes dropped off at the painters tomorrow!

I was able to get quite a bit done today. I finished up the body work, washed the whole car with TSP then detergent and finally hit it with wax and grease remover. Also started taping off the glass

I got quite a bit done on my day off (monday) but still wasn't able to get it down to the paint shop. I had the car set to leave and it wouldn't start. The battery was dead but after a quick charge it was obvious that wasn't the issue. After a start to finish testing of my starting circuit, I found there is a short in my harness between the starter relay and the starter. My best guess is in the engine harness, I have been suspect of it since the last time I had the head off. I decided to bypass the entire thing with a start button just to get the car there. I see a custom wiring harness in my near future.

Good job on the base coat. When getting a paint job is it necessary to remove all moldings, etc? I need some body work and a paint job and was wondering if the shop would require that done before hand.
