Not yet. I actually forgot that I had gotten a GoPro Camera for Christmas. As soon as I get oils changed out, and it stops raining, I'll get a vid or two up. I'm anxious to see how that GoPro is going to do!

RLF? If you're referring to the "Before" pic, that's a TurboXS BOV. I love the sound of that thing! It makes more of a 'whooooosh' than a 'psshht' sound.

Yep.....you heard video!

You and Ron both have been pushing for that. :)

A bit of an update on my gauges install...

The oil passage plug rounded off when I was trying to remove it. I have not had good luck getting those out at all. Out of three plug removal attempts and one factory oil pressure sender, I have only successfully removed one. And that was out of two different engines. They have either been rounding off or breaking off. I wonder if they get installed with thread locker at the factory.

I've got some "E-Z Out" sockets arriving tomorrow. I've never used them; but, my buddy swears by them. He's letting me borrow his set and is sure that I'm going to go right out and buy a set after using his. We'll see... :)

Well that sucks! Let me know how those "EZ-outs" work. I need something to get a stubborn stud out. Can't wait for the vids! ;)

edit: So how many miles in?

I got it out. And without the use of those special sockets. I removed the exhaust manifold brace and that allowed me enough room to hammer a standard 10mm socket on to the bolt. That was enough to get it out. Now the chore of getting all the right fittings and adapters to make this thing work.

114 miles so far. :D

Glad to see everything is going well, can't wait to see the video =)

Thanks. I won't feel completely comfortable until there's around 2k miles on everything. The first 2k miles are always nerve racking for me. ;)

I pulled the rear plug (the one just above the motor mount) to install a 'T' for my two gauges. Oil Pressure and Oil Temp. Hence my post on your thread! :D

Yep. And just to give you an idea of what I'm going through, I'm using the hole that's just above the oil return for the turbo. You can see it in the picture you posted in your thread.

If you're even half way considering it, take that plug out now!!! ;)

Funny you say that cuz it looks like someone tried to remove it in the past. It's kinda round! :) Gonna have to think about this one.

I just finished up the plumbing for both the pressure and temp. Very much a pain to do after the fact.

Just to give you an idea, I paid $9 for the pressure gauge on sale and another $8 for the copper tubing. It's definitely not something that'll break the bank.

I'll take some pics tomorrow and post them up. If I remember anyway... :)

I keep looking at that bolt and hear Kenny over my shoulder saying "Take that bolt out Ron!" :) I think I will. I'd like to see those pics.

He he... :biglaugh:

Well, sorry for the delay in posting these Ron. Classes started last week... As soon as she's back up on jack stands for the next transmission oil change, I'll try to get some pics of the plumbing. Its going to be tough.

Here's what I have for now. In the second pic, you can see the routing I chose for the copper line. I still have to wire in the oil temp gauge. I will hopefully have my gauge box done here within the next week or so.

Cool Ken. Thanks for the pics. I wondered how easy the install would be using copper tubing. I know its rather flexible, but not as much as rubber. What thickness is the copper? I'm assuming the gauge box will be mounted in the glove box?

I tried (not too hard mind you) to get the bolt out and it is definitely in there good. I can tell it's gonna take some braun! :)

Installing the copper is a bit of a pain in the ass since you need some slack to be able to pull the gauge out to disconnect it. I ran mine to the stereo surround area and it turned out decent.

As long as you think about the routing before you go at it, it isn't that bad. Care has to be taken not to kink it or bend it back and forth because it will break. The only thing I wish I would've done differently was slide some vac line over the tubing so it won't rub/scratch/rattle on anything. I'm probably still going to do that.

The brand of the tubing is 'Sunpro'. Which is owned by 'Snap-On'. I don't know what the thickness of the copper tubing is. Whatever it is, its the common size for gauges...

The glove box is my second choice. I have an idea that I'm working on; but, if I don't like that, then yep....in the glove box they go.

That's where my buddy put his too.

Yeah, the copper tubing is a little more of a pain than the plastic stuff; but, VERY worth the hassle! :)

Good information Ken. Thanks!

I noticed you've put some more mileage on. Good stuff!
