hey kenny your supra looks amazing! i've got a red '91 i'm swapping a 1jz-gte VVTI in and will definately be coming back to this thread for some ideas on stuff. Congrats on a beautiful car and i will continuously be coming back to see the updates!!! cant wait to hear this thing when its running!

Glad to hear that there's one more 91 out there! Sorry to hear there's a 1j going in; but, you know...lol... ;) If I ever pick up another 91 or 92, I'll probably do the same thing. Then every day when the alarm goes off it'll be....Hmm....7M or 1J... :biglaugh:

I wish it was that here. But it is slowly getting there. It reached 38 and sunny yesterday here in MN.

I haven't decided on the filter size yet; but, I was thinking along the lines of a PH8A. That may be too big; but, I want to fit the biggest one I can in there.

What about you?

WIX 51515 (Motorcraft FL1A), IIRC it is off some thing like a 460 ford engine. It should be large enough, Look at post 506 on my build thread for specs on it.

Well, once again the "Parcel Service Gods" decided to smile on me last week. My MK4 COP's showed up along with an AEM Dry Flow Filter, and an S3 Shifter! I'm liking that... :)

So, I decided to cut the hose barb off of my Fumoto valve. It was hanging a little too low for my liking.

p1526590_1.jpg

Then I was able to finish up the lower IC Pipe run. I had to add a 45* coupler to make it work.

p1526590_2.jpg

Here's test fitting the new coils. I'll have detailed pics of this process later. This is NOT a plug and play thing.

p1526590_3.jpg

And here's test fitting the intake pipe and new AEM Dry Flow. I can see why guys like to move to a FFIM when dealing with a 4" inlet turbo!

The S3 Short Shifter.(previously a C's ;))

Errr, Not C's, but rather Supra Sport's V3. No doubt arguably the best short through shifter available.

As before, nice project you've got going, and interesting to see your new IC piping path...

You are correct sir! For some reason, I had the C's Shifter on the brain at the time. :: facepalm :: I'll fix that... ;)

When the IC run is complete, I'll post as good of pics as I can. It's hard to get good pics of some of that.

Looks good Kenny, everything is coming along nicely. I just replaced the SS V3 shifter with the one from Nash Man, I'll see what the difference is, hopefully soon.

Thanks Fred. One of the things I wanted in a shifter was for it to look stock. Or close to it... I want it to hold the factory shift boot like the stock shifter does. The NM shifter just doesn't do that to my liking. Otherwise, I would've gone with it.

Hey Ryan! Totally! I will head your way when it's buttoned up. It'll be a nice "Pre-Centralia" run to make sure she's ready for the twisties of White Pass! :)

I bought the coils off another member. According to him, they have ~3k on them. They look brand new. I am mounting them differently than the way he had them so I'm going to have to extend the harness a bit; but, that's a no brainer...

I also have the S3 shifter, it is pretty sweet. I've compared it to Nashman's shifter, and Nash's shifter has an even shorter throw than the S3, which I assume would require a bit more force to shift. My S3 has developed a bit of play in it over time, but hasn't got any worse. I seem to remember it being 100% tight when new. Not too big a deal.

All your work will soon be enjoyed Ken! My car with a nice clutch, the short shifter, and 400+hp on pump gas is a huge amount of fun to drive. I've been taking it out boosting virtually every day the roads are dry!

Yeah, with the Marlin Crawler Tranny, I figured it was time to upgrade the shifter too. The shorter the throw...the faster you go... :)

I started a thread on this; but, wanted here in my build thread too...

When I got home from work, my son asked me about one of his homework assignments. He was supposed to draw and color pictures to help define vocabulary words. He's 9 and in the 4th grade.

The word that was giving him the most trouble was "Industry". I explained what the word meant and gave examples of the Gun Industry, Toy Industry, and Automobile Industry.

A bit later, my wife showed me what he drew to define "Industry". I started cracking up!

Yep...........this is the state that he typically sees my supra in. :biglaugh:

Yeah, I was hoping to have it running by now; but, I ran across some sweet deals and that set me back a little bit, time-wise...

I'll definitely be hanging on to that picture!! :)

Here's the start of the COP Mod. (I will update this post as I go so it'll all be in one post. So check back here for progress...)

In order to get the 1-6 Coil to sit correctly you have to shave a bit off in two spots. It should look like this when you're done.

p1528950_1.jpg

p1528950_2.jpg

I then threaded a bolt in to the rear threaded oil galley plug.

p1528950_3.jpg

Next up are the screw and threaded shoulder used to secure the bracket for coils 2-5 and 3-4.

p1528950_4.jpg

And a shot of the bracket. I made it out of 1/8" Aluminum Bar Stock. It's not the best; but, it doesn't matter because it'll all be covered by the cover I'll have made.

p1528950_5.jpg

p1528950_6.jpg

p1528950_7.jpg

And a spare threaded plug to secure the other two coils

p1528950_8.jpg

It's going to look something like this.

p1528950_9.jpg

Here's the modified harness that came with my COP's. I am placing the coils differently than their previous owner so the harness is not long enough and had to be modified. I am out of wire loom so I couldn't finish up; but, I'll get some tomorrow. On to the harness...

Before:

p1528950_10.jpg

After:

p1528950_11.jpg

Ok. I got the harness all loomed up and installed. The coils all sit ~OK at best. I can't say that I'm happy with them at all; but, that could be just me being picky. We'll see how everything goes once it's running.

I skipped some pics because I was in a hurry to get this pig done; but, here's how things ended up looking.

That is really awesome, your doing a good job. Patience pays, and it shows in your build. To bad the intercooler pipe will cover that good work you've done. Oh well, it will still look really good. I have been getting a lot of good ideas from your build, keep it up man.
