Great build!:aigo:

What materials were used on the manifold? Is that a Burnes Collector?

Jeremy

The flanges to the head are regular 44w low carbon mild steel, the elbows are schedule 10 304 stainless steel (so are the tial v-band flanges). The collector is a vibrant sch 10 6-1 collector modified from the t3 to go to the circular 2.5" v-band. Burns collector are nice but aren't meant for turbo use in my opinion as the material is 16 ga and isn't meant to hold the weight of a turbo at the temp's seen on a turbo vehicle unless there is stupid bracing (IMO).

Updated pics in the car, the picture quality isn't great, but meh, it shows how it sits right now.

Interesting manifold. Any real difference between that and a typical T4 flange?

How fast does a GT35r spool on a 2J anyways? When do they usually hit 15psi?

The 2 main differences are; 1, that it doesn't need a gasket, so you can take it off and on as many time as you want, haha. 2, that you can clock the entire turbocharger on the manifold so you can position it exactly where you want it, no need to cut and weld the flange, etc. Plus it's just cool, so there's that too.

As for how fast it will spool on a 2JZ, not sure. I haven't actually seen many 2JZ's with a GT35R, so I'm not really sure. Once this thing is tuned though, I'll be sure to let you know ;).

cool build up. how warped was the old block?

0.08mm, max allowable warpage as per Toyota is 0.07mm.

You know, Jeff, it's a funny thing; I realize, of course, that your avatar is a pic of Kramer, but since I've never seen a picture of your face, I always just kinda pictured you as Kramer. It's dumb, but I still think you should look like Kramer.

Anyways, awesome build. Always nice to see a classy mk4, especially without having to crawl through the crap in the "other" supra board....

Well, it's been a little bit since the last update... okay not that long, but still. I should post something right? Still haven't managed to get any pictures of the car outside, but with all the snow that may not happen for a little bit anyways.

New CCW SP500 wheels are finally here and on the car:
