1400hp is a nice goal. where is it being tuned? and also is it going to still be a streeet car? or a dyno queen?

I have to ask this... what good is a car if you can't drive it anywhere? I mean, you could have a 1400hp car on the street, but you'd have to slap a tow hitch on it and use it like a truck to haul cargo :biglaugh:

Nice build. Im glad to see that you guys are using Tomei pistons and rods. Do you have any pictures of the cooling channels in the pistons?

Very few Tomei pistons actually have the cooling channels, their 2JZ pistons are not one of them. They only offer the C/C on the SR20 and RB26 pistons.

I think the only 2JZ pistons I've seen that actually have cooling channels are the stock pistons.

Well, the engine is in, and the clutch feels significantly lighter than I thought it would, from what I've heard of other people's twin plates. It has a nice smooth feel to it. It will be interesting to see how it is to actually drive with it, but with sprung hubs and the nice pedal feel it seems to have, I am really impressed.

Nice build and great story, despite having to spend tons of extra money on that damn water pump/ fan mishap and who knows what else was tampered with. Make sure you get used to driving it rhd with close to 600. :aigo::evil2: that has to be very awkward at first.

Here are two more pics I found from when Jason was building the exhaust manifold, before it was coated, etc. Not sure what wastegate is on in these pics, as it's not the same as the one that's on the car now, haha. Must have been another one he had at the shop before his arrived.

EDIT: It appears there are a few wastegates, haha, there's 3 in the second pic. Black one is the one being used on the car.

Well, you have to understand that from the pictures posted in post 1 to the ones posted in post 2 was a time period of a couple months. When I started this thread the engine had valve covers on it.

Update: Will post pics of it in the car in the next day or so, I just need to take a couple, the car just needs the fuel pumps and lines installed, as well as the ECU & MAP sensor installed and I need to get a base map from Haltech as well, just to get it running before it goes to get tuned, etc.

Sweet.

Sweet build:thumbup: i love the exhaust manifold, that's some quality work right there. The turbo should should spool very well indeed, please post up dyno sheets once done, i'm hanging to see where it comes on strong.
