Nitrous is your friend when you lack a decent turbo ;)

I would like to SEE this guy you speak of on a stock turbo running 11's

This is slightly off topic, but, has anyone on this site ever made an 11 second pass on a stock motor and has yet to ever replace a head gasket?

Just wondering bc I know some people get lucky and never have to replace it..

I've done mine already but i was just curious.

So you need an 11 second pass on a totally stock motor, with stock headgasket???

Hmm... I'm thinking this could be a rather fun challenge for me to see what the 7M can handle before I rip her out for something even more fun :D:D:D

well the 11.72 run was with nitrous, but I dont doubt that if it had a better tune and I had more practice it could see 11's without spray. I was running 12.2ish at 115ish without the nitrous. Swapping in an automatic transmission wouldnt hurt either.

on the 60 trim ct how much boost are you running with the 75 shot just a question.

Here's my guess

1. Auto transmission
2. Weight reduction somehow
3. 60 trim
4. Nitrous
5. Decent tires
6. Decent driver

Other misc stuff (Plugs, wires, intake, MAF mod, just basic upgrades)

The only part of Decent Driver you'll need is the "don't spin out on brake boost launching"....lol. After that you just floor it.

so has anyone ever run 11's on the stock turbo no nitrous?
I've been trying to do this in my srt-4 for the last year but closest i got was a 12.1@114 w/ the stocker on 22psi. lol

would be nice if this year i could hit 11's on both cars stock turbo.

/\Good luck on that one.. Extremely doughtful you would be able to accomplish that. It would be so much more cost affective to just upgrade the turbo rather than spend tons of money on trying to make an inefficient turbo fast. It would be very hard to break into the 12's on the stock turbo.

im not gonna spend tons of money on it, if i feel i can do it for a decent amount i will but im not upgrading the turbo. We'll see what happens.

We have a supra that runs 11.8 at the 1/4miles.
It had a fully built engine with JE/Eagle, MHG+ARP, T4 60-1 turbine, 1000ccm inj, VEMS ECU, 1.8 bar of boost with ALS, and 2step limiter.
It wasn't so expensive

lol maybe its not expensive for you but it sounds like a lot to me. Guys I had a question. I want to know how do I know when to turn up the boost and how do I know how much the car can take? Is it just the turbo I need to change to turn up the boost or are there other things involved like injectors and stuff? I know you can do about 10-12 psi on a CT-26 but what about an upgraded turbo? Would it depend on your engine setup as well?

PS I tried searching so please don't tell me to search

There are many variables. Condition of the engine is a huge one. If you don't know the condition of your engine it would be a good idea to take it apart and find out before trying to make big power. You WILL break things, it's almost inevitable when shooting for high power. But if you're smart about it you can greatly decrease the chances.
