Hey everyone. I'm lookin for a turbo guage cluster. The lights on mine dont work, but everything else does. Does anyone have an ideas about how to fix it or does anyone have one they can part with. I'm in Longmont and just want to stay in the state. for pick up.

My lights went out a few years ago, it turned out to be the reostat (dimmer) for the lights. I think there is a troubleshoot page on cygnus for it, but it might be just as easy to call the dealer.

Matt's got it. If all the guage lights are out and the CC goes dark when the headlights are turned on it's the rheostat (dimmer). It's easy to bypass Just pull the plug connecting to it and jumer the white wire with the green stripe to the white wire with the black stripe. Hell, if you never use your dimmer you can just leave it bypassed.

If it is just as simple as a dimmerswitch. Heres another question. is the dimmer switch for a turbo different from the one on a non turbo. What i have is a conversion from an 86 non turbo to a 90 turbo

The dimmer isn't different between the N/A and Turbo or the same generation. The dimmer from the pre89 models is different from the dimmer of the 89+ models. The wiring is the same though, and I think the plug is the same... just the design and location changed.

I thought that was the case. The dimmerswitch worked fine when it was on before. I have done everything i can think of to it to make it work. I have read a few people forgetting to not toggling the dimmerswitch, i have done that and no dice. I'm still thinking its the cluster. Do you know if the lights on the cluster are in series or a parallel circuit. i.e. if one light goes out do they all go out.

I'm in Grand Junction for school but the car is in Longmont. Thats where i live really. My dad has been trying to get it fixed. I just read the last post so i havent had a chance to relay how to bipass it. Its just weird that it worked fine and i change the cluster and then it stops working.
