just a thought, but how much would you be able to do one up for a 7mge with higher compression, in between 10:1 and 11:1?

Nearly the same, the compression would be in the set of custom CP pistons. Even without a stroker kit, you can always get a set of custom made pistons for your NA in any compression ratio you want.

If you want to destroke the 7M, just use a crank from the MK2. (5M.)

Easy to get 2.8L that way, and HKS used this formula with the right parts to get some very high RPM out of the 7M. (With the right cams, turbo and other parts, it was used in the 8 second MK3 style drag car that HKS was showing off a few years back.)

According to HKS, you can go 85.5mm bore, and according to what I've found out, max stroke is about 97mm unless you want to go with some type of custom oil setup.

Reality is if you have a block bored out that thin, your likely to get some cyc. flex/ring flutter and it might cause serious wear and power problems, but it's just a guess. (And you can't rebuild the motor again w/o replacing the bores with liners.... Another idea I've kicked around. Figure about 600 to 800 to have it done, simese the bores, and then you can go max bore size up into the 85 and 86mm range, possibly more, but you'll need a custom head gasket at some point since the sealing dimple in the MHG will be exceeded at some point. And you need some material there if your going to use a copper gasket, and stainless wire for the seals.)

Again, if you need more than about 3.2L, get another motor with more displacement ability like the LS series of engines. (7.0L is not out of the question, and in a engine that is lighter than the 7MGTE.)

Notice the oil pump drive? It is machined down about as far as I would reccomend, and it barely clears the Pauter rod shoulders. (You might be able to get more if your rods have thinner shoulders, but weaker rods was not an option. :))

By Golly Rich you're a savior. I've been looking around checking out the options for rebuilding my old motor (long story short: idiot previous owner tried to run it on 1qt of oil), and you came at just the right time. I'll probably 100% likely order a crank and a set of pistons from you in about 4-6 months :) I'll keep you informed

UPDATE!

Will be done very soon, just waiting for the pauters to show up so I can grind the crank to match the rods.

All welded up except for 1 and 6, can't wait to finish this first one! Then next will go much faster.

The snout is brand new on this crank, the crank pully had come loose, so the snout was welded and ground down to oem again. The key ways are fresh and brand new.

This crank is fully machined and straighter than they are when new. Rods are all std size, mains are .25m under. Had to grind them down this far to straighten the crank. This amount is nothing for the mains. Stroke is 97mm or 3.8192

The rods and mains are finished to have an oil clearance of .0015, this is very tight and will give the buyer room to polish down to their desired clearance.
Price for this crank plus the custom pistons will be in the 2200.00 range plus exchange.

whats the max rev on this setup. Can an 8500 red line be made

I don't see any problem with 8500 with limited use. Long, high hanging revs, like in road course racing, I would not recomend. I would send the crank out for nitrite treatment or mellanite treatment to run those rpms however.
