Nice Chris! bimmers ftw! I love my E30. If you have to go with an E36, an "M" is the only to go! ;)

Hell yeah, man. I love this car! I <3 e30's, too. I considered selling my pickup for an e30, but decided I need more ground clearance than they have to offer. :( This car will be a sleeping monster when done, but that won't be for quite a while. First is the Supra, second is 7m swap the pickup, then turbo the M. LOL.

I hear ya. I've seen clean 80k mile '95's sell for fifteen grand! Makes me love mine even more, for $6500. :)

It's not perfect, but I don't want a perfect car.

Ive looked around for them and the lowest i could find 93-95 near me was 8k. my bud at work got his yellow 95 for 4k because the guy he got it from thought it had bhg and the water pump was leaking. well turned out nothing was wrong with, the guy was just a moron.

^ That's excellent. :) I'm actually going to look at another M3 over this coming weekend. I believe it's a '96 with a blown motor and super low mileage. It's currently sitting in a field.

The body looks to be immaculate, or so I'm told. I suppose I'll find out!

Id like to have a pre 96 so i dont have to worry about emissions. anything older than a 96 only has a safety inspection here.

Same here. :) Not to mention that the '96-'99's have FOUR oxygen sensors, along with various other things to crap up the engine bay!

Tell me about it, I need to sit down and study how I want to build my exhaust system for this summer. So those GTR's will hear me as pass them at the track :evil2:

Hell yeah! :) I have too many projects to turbo this thing now! It needs to remain my daily driver for the summer months. (which is why my pickup will get a 7M before the M3 gets boosted;))

Nah, but since I got a new Supra chassis and will be using the r154, I now have a stage 3 clutch and lightweight flywheel that'll be going in the pickup. All I have to do now is source 5m mounts and build the damn motor!

Update: This was all done back in February when I had a week off from work. I revamped the entire cooling system under the hood. (already had a new radiator), but every cooling hose shown here (plus a few that aren't) were replaced:

Also replaced both drive belts, the water pump with a Stewart High-Flow, the thermostat, and bypassed the throttlebody warmer system. (It had a thermostat in the coolant circuit that was mounted in the air box/intake pipe to properly warm the TB) I only drive in the summer, so I junked it. LOL.

After I put it back together, it fired right up. I recently replaced the fuel filter, too, got all the dash lights working (the cig lighter ring was out, and the light at the headlight switch, and I tinted the bulb on the hazard switch because it's just too damn bright!)

I had a few error codes when all was said and done, got them all sorted out tonight after work. The car is dirty, so no pics yet. Also, I need a new fucking heater core. Ugh. Every car I've owned, I've replaced the heater core on. I have such bad luck! It'll be here Friday, I'll probably try to put it in over next weekend.

It's much different than working on the Supra, and it's a learning experience every time. LOL. I don't feel like writing anymore at the moment, but I'll add more later. :)

Yeah. There are screw holes on either side of the water pump that you're supposed to thread some bolts into. That will supposedly push the water pump out/ unseal it. I've heard of many people breaking those tabs right off, though. I just used a rubber mallet and gave it a few taps on each side. It came off with little trouble.

The recent price hike in ZKW headlights has pushed off my retrofit. BavToys only has them in stock with angel eyes, which I don't want, and they're more expensive. All I want are the housings. LOL. Is that too much to ask!?

So I'm on the hunt for a GOOD pair (good- meaning that they've had Lamin-x on them from day 1) of used ZKW's. Rather than spending $500+ on headlights only to hack them up, the used route is better.

I had several error codes pop up (I might have mentioned this above, but I don't feel like re-reading it, LOL)- Three of them, to be exact. 1181- DME (ECU) control memory failure, 1163- Purge valve malfunction, and 1161- Air intake temp sensor malfunction. (I might be off on those numbers, but you get the point)

I got all that fixed last night. The car runs much stronger now! I also picked up a set of 21.5# fuel injectors to use in conjunction with a 540i HFM and a chip tune from TRM. Should put me around 230 naturally aspirated rwhp. Peppy. :) That'll hold me over until I get my Supra and pickup done, and go turbo on the M3.

That's all for now!

why not just use depo housings? there practically the same its just the projector thats different.

and also yeah i know about the 2 tabs but the one we were removing had those tabs broken which is why it was a hard job, the previous owner try to replace it which failed! and just left it.

There is a set of ZKW's on bimmerforums for $350 with new Depo front glass.
Yeah, I saw that. Thanks for the heads up, though. I really like the velocity nipples on the ZKW glass, though. Mmmmm.... nipples.

Bah, I might have to settle. Used ZKW's sell so quick, dammit!

And, I gotcha. That would definitely make it a PITA.

Hey shaeff, those guys up in Utica are selling their car for $65,000 if you are interested.:evil2:

Anyway though, looks like we just got a 3 series in the family too, my dad called me up randomly today to tell me he bought a 96 328i convertible, so I'm looking forward to see more on this.
