Yep according to the cam card that came with them, mesuring at 50 thou lift. Using ARM gears. And yes they haven't moved yet, easy to check them with the clear timing cover.

^^^ yep look to be around 8 degrees.

What would you do on adjusting the cams? Do all on one gear/cam, if so witch one, split the difference, 4 degrees each. Last option 5 on intake and 3 degrees on exhaust?

I come from a land down under
I tend to run 112 to 114 lobe centres on Turbo engines Rob, makes them idle much better, I split the difference between the 2 cams so you don't end up smacking a valve on a piston.

Ok so the intake would be right about the 0 mark then and the exhaust will be around the second mark on the retard side, if im understanding you correct.

I know wht your saying with \ / . I just don't want to move them in the wrong direction and shove a valve into the piston.

I just thought of this, DAM IT my timing light is broken, and once I move the exhaust cam I will have no way to check/ adjust the timing. FUCK. I will have to track one down tomorrow morning. 8 pm here.

^^^ True, do they have timing lights?

I had a brain fart today wile driving the sup. Maybe the waste gate is just opening to soon (witch is fine for now on stock fuel) lets say 4-5 lbs. and the rest of it is just boost creep! Its a idea and explains a lot of whats going on. The internal WG on this is pretty small for this size of turbo. Should really have a external one for this size turbo.

Thank you for the offer Emilio, but I can barrow my neighbors, if I don't buy a new one here soon. It sounds like on Saturday Im going to head down to Wayne's and were going to play with it more then.

On a good note I start working this morning after being laid off for the last year+. Good, Bad, well I'm not sure yet. Unemployment can't last forever, and I have had plenty of fun during my time off so time to join the working world again.

where now, is it gonna pay better than smurfit?

Pouch Tec, & nope not better pay., I took a even larger pay cut!!!:: angry ::

But work conditions are a lot better plus it's non-union. It will be a filler for now to get back into the "working" mode after taking the last year off.

maybe in your area, im averaging 50k, which is actually a little low for my area. the other simplot plants pay better, but id have to move to an area with much higher living costs. kinda considering it though as im young and should be building my social security for later in life. better to have a higher income early, even if it is only on paper.

Ya I would say out in Cali, Maintenance could average that, but it is just because the cost of living is so high. For instance Im guessing a new average house in average area is 300-350K+. Here there 150-175K. Trust me If I didn't buy/build my house at a young age I would have been long gone from this are. Around here as Jeremy said the average to high average is 50-55K. Low side is 35-40K witch Im now in once again, for now until more jobs open up :cry::cry: Trust me, I have put plenty of thought into moving out of this area in the last year.

5 years ago, I came out of college with no experience, I made more back then, then I do now!!!! Cheap fuckers taking advantage of the shity economy.

EDIT: I just did a quick search for Maint careers in your area, and wow, there are quite a few out there!! Umm........ Need a roommate ?
