That was the first pic of plastigauge. As IHI-RHC7 said: that is the wrong way to plastigauge.

it gave me a reading that was under 1/1000 of an inch. It read the space between the bearing and the Rod Cap.

I usually put mine between the Pan and the Subframe ;)!

I can post on the road using my pocket pc

a hitachi g1000

the next morning i woke up and began the rest of the trip home.

I ran behind a CBR600? doin 90.

about an hour into the drive a 96 stang pulled up and tried the motorbike.

they both took off and I went on pursuit.

i passed the stang at 115 then the bike when I hit 135.

thumbs up to the bike, smirk at the stang.

I was just looking for a little background info.
My thanks goes out to everyone that helped me in my 7m rebuild.

I think im finally close enough to REVIVE my rebuild thread.
Heres what i've figured out so far

(no longer) In need of... (thanks to MDCMOTORSPORTS)
7M oil return flange. (goes on the block)
T4 oil return flange. (goes on the turbo)
7m oil send that converts the banjo bolt hole to -4an fitting. (goes on the block)
(no longer) In need of... (thanks to mattsmall)
3" vband flange & clamp

In NEED of
-10 SS braided hose
o2 sensor bung for DP

ABOUT THE TURBO...
The turbo is a Garrett clone. a/r .60 VBAND resold by Exotic Speed, canada.

I have close-ups for you...
(it's the slideshow)
http://img378.imageshack.us/slideshow/player.php?id=img378/3531/1163130486nk7.smil

Inlet 3"
Outlet 2"
Bearing Wet Floating Bearings
Oil Inlet 1/8 NPT Oil Inlet
Flange Standard T3/T4 Flang
HP ~350 WHP
Working Pressure: 25-35 PSI Peak Boost Output Capability
Compressor .60 A/R Compressor
Turbine 1.15A/R Turbine
Compressor Wheel 0.57T Compressor Wheel
Exducer: 2.32"
Mayor:3.00"
Turbine Wheel High quality T04B with forged turbine propeller wheel
Exducer: 2.07"
Mayor:2.36"
Hot Side .58 5 Bolt Standard Hot Side

I also found out that
1) I will have to brace the turbo somehow to keep it from cracking the manifold.

2) Oil inlet on the turbo is 1/8 NPT.
I bought a 1/8 extension pipe and a 1/8 to 1/4 NPT adapter today.

3) a -4an fitting can be used on the 7m block to feed the oil to the turbo.
(seeking a fitting that will convert the banjo bolt to -3 AN or -4 AN fitting)

4) A -12an (or -10an) flange will be needed for oil return for the turbo and the 7m.
I am seeking these as well.

5) Im buying a vband flange for the exhaust side of the turbo from mattsmall

The BOV and WG come from??? china??? Hangzhou Magic Power Racing Parts Ltd.

Post Date:
Oct 31, 2006
Expiry date:
Apr 29, 2007

See Blow Off Valve (50mm) Details

Detailed Selling Lead Description
Our blow off valves are easily adjustable to prevent both premature boost
leakage and compressor surge. It is made of durable cast and billet aluminum
frame, and the valves to diaphragm ratio provide performance that cheep
piston types can not offer. The spring stiffness adjustment screw and the two
different sizes give the user the option to match vehicle with mild upgrades to
heavily tuned engines. It is also available in easy to install kit form for most
Japanese turbocharged with incredible sound.

6) the BOV is somewhat of a mystery. Not that I dont know how they work, its just that the damn thing is HUGE, kinda funny looking.
Also that BOV can only vent to the atmosphere.

good for up to 1200HP

heres an installed pic, dont know who, but someone elses ride.

I need 3" hardpipes badly. I'd rather buy used ones cuz they've been fitted to a supra.

Anyone selling some???

I walked outside to do a test fit.
I could'nt resist.

Heres the manifold

Heres the turbo
this is prolly they way it'll look when im done

Space is kinda tight. I may have to spin the housing on the turbo to point the outlet down like stock for more room.

The back-
Gotta fab the DP.
90deg down then 45'degs then it should meet with the WG dump tube. add another 45 degs to point at the back. Polished SS tubing. Gotta weld on the bungs.

If I cant reroute the dump pipe, the WG is gonna howl full strength. LOL!

Space is kinda tight here for a dump tube. hard 90deg turn?
Mine is the second from the right.

In NEED of
a 50mm WG Dump Tube!

Yesterday was a GOOD day :)

Got that nasty trailor tore down and hauled off by 2pm!~
I can ACTUALLY see the mail box now- guess I better get new blinds…

Then I got a package from…
********************************************************************
MDC Motorsports! t4 to 7m Flanges & Fitttings. Very Nice! :) +1 for a good seller

Tubbie!- Master Cylinder Reservoir Cap. Always good parts. BIG UP!

MattSmall! Vband Exhaust Flanges & t-bolt Clamp. What A STEAL.

Mandrel Bends! (Ebay) Very good service and prices for SS pipe. They can EASILY hook you up with your own polished custom pieces.

Jarco! (Ebay) Very nice nose header. A little dirty, but quick delivery, great part.

Banks Power! SS o2 bungs. CHEAP! 2 for 7.98 SHIPPED!
********************************************************************

I put the header panel on today. Made everything fit.

Did a test fit on the exhaust & turbo & WG.
Had to rotate the turbo some to fit right.

Then I made a gasket for the oil return feed, and bolted it up.
MDC Motorsports made some nice flanges. Painted and clean. Everything fits ON THE SPOT! GOOD JOB.

The WG has some powder-coating on the threads. Will have to re-thread it I guess.

I tried to fit the FMIC. I removed the oil cooler, PS cooling lines, Oil hard lines. Relocated the horns. Added a tranny fluid cooler. Used 3/8th hose to relocate it under the nose.

Today I am seeking MORE PARTS! Lol

Need the bolts to the t4 outlet flange, -12AN hose,

-10 SS braided hose

still need the braided line?
you need like a 10 in or what?
I'm not sure exactly what you need, or where it's going, but talk to aaron at rabidchimp.com and see what he can do for you.
He hooked me up with a SS braided oil line for my turbo in a crunch.

What are you aiming for HP wise with the new turbo set up?
