My goal is to have the most epic MK3. EVAR.

This can come true just as long as you don't do anything silly, say maybe.....a motor swap. :icon_bigg

As for interior, make life easier on yourself and do what I did....GUT IT! :sarcasm:

Haha thanks!!

by motor swap I assume you mean forsaking my 7M??? NEVAR!!! LoL

and for the interior... I do plan on gutting it, redoing any wiring that needs done, maybe stitch welding, removing all the old nasty sound deadener and replacing with newer more effective and much lighter material. *sigh this is why I can't sleep lol. I try and then my mind wanders and I begin to rethink all my Supra plans...

Glad to see you haven't lost your motivation. I completely lost mine. Gonna get her running soon, I think my lack of motivation has to do with not feeling boost in two years. Got use to the old civic. Good luck.

Sup guys, just wanted to let ya'll know I haven't forgotten you =D I shall have sexy parts pictures posted here soon. Right now I am in a waiting mode for parts and for the torque plate.

As far I have researched, I have determined that the machine shop will need to torque to specs the torque plate, belt tensioner and maincaps before machining, then keep it all bolted on for gapping of the rings as well. That will be as perfect as they can get. I am hoping the machine shop Sergio works with is willing to do that for me. Everyone else is insisting that it's not necessary to get a torque plate. ugh, remember people, my 700hp power goal is not for a weekend warrior, it is for daily driving. I want my bottom end to be PERFECT. Reliability is the main concern here, not cutting corners.

Well... pics to come, but I discovered I have one of those rare 7M cranks... too bad it's ruined by spun rod bearing. Piston one... only half of a bearing left.

Rare 7M cranks? I had two of those. Listed for over a month and nobody even attempted to buy them so I threw them out with a lot of other stuff.

Hey guys, here is a long awaited update. Since we last met, I have gathered 95% of all the parts I need and have just delivered my engine to Sergio in Dallas for machine work and assembly. I am in the midst of removing my front subframe for a full poly swap of all bushings as well as installation of all new steering components. Still have to send off my valve body for rework as well as some small fabrication things like wideband bungs and temp sensor bungs.

First let's drool over obligatory new parts pictures:

it seems I misread the description :( For some reason I thought those were FSR's, apparently you're supposed to contact them to change the skirt style to FSR's dammit.

My two valve bodies, the left one will be sent for modification. The other will be saved along with my spare auto for a full rebuild in the future. Unless I go R154.

Is this the A1000? I can't tell LOL

sm_photo_missing.jpg

Yep. Euro LHD manual folding mirrors. Not quite as balling as JDM automatic folders, but this way I don't need to mess with RHD to LHD conversion. #shufflin'

The garage after I cleaned it up a bit before tackling the front subframe

sm_photo_missing.jpg

Got distracted and wanted to test fit the Retro-Spec (C7 Carbon) lip for pre89 bumper.

sm_photo_missing.jpg

sm_photo_missing.jpg

As you can see, the lip will need some work to fit perfectly.

sm_photo_missing.jpg

I was very suprised to see that the lip actually overlaps the bumper... so it actually sits slightly higher than the stock lip!!

sm_photo_missing.jpg

Side mounting holes do not match up -_-

sm_photo_missing.jpg

Looks rather flimsy IMO. I will have to find a way to make it more stable and strong.

sm_photo_missing.jpg

Needs work as you can see.

sm_photo_missing.jpg

Current thought train: paint the lip body color and match with a front splitter made from black abs plastic molded accordingly to how my research goes as far as airflow is concerned and engine bay internal air pressure.

In the meantime I will use a stock lip.

This is why we do not run around the garage full of sharp metal edges with flip flops on.

I have done that before at the shop. Stopped wearing shorts too and now just the work pants, really helps to stay away from sharp edges scraping you. I have a pair of old Nike to wear around as I hate the heavy boots BUT I do wear them when I do an gearbox rebuild as those gears can really hurt if they drop on your toe.

OK, apologies for everything out of order, but for some reason photobucket was acting up and I had to reupload pics twice to get them to embed correctly.

Here are some sketches of a front splitter I would like to make:

I come from a land down under
I've been doing this longer than a big % of the guys here have been alive and I still bleed on a semi regular basis ;)

Occupational hazard!

Nice work so far should be a nice reliable toy when it's done, any reason for such small injectors?

Ah okay, They'll be fine for a while anyways! If you got any questions on the engine building/machining feel free to shoot me a PM..

I just picked up a bunch of stuff as I have two valve body's lined up as well. I got all the things for another two so got everything in stock ready to go!

Thanks guys!

IJ: I went with 550's since I won't be going all out on turbo upgrades yet, simply over building my block. I will be using a Lexus AFM with my 57trim CT that Albert is currently working on. I will also be using a piggyback, but not sure which one (my friend suggested we start with an SAFC2). Reliability is the main concern here though, even before power. Once the car is up and running strong, the next immediate step is full suspension/drivetrain work.

Devin: thanks again!! Yeah everytime I have a question that blows my mind, SM is usually the first place I turn to lol. Once I get that cash flow, be assured, a valve body will be on its way :D
