wtf??? u sure? were they 6M or 7M cranks? That's crazy... I would love to get another one... I may have to just settle for a 6M crank now dammit

Yeap, 7M crank. Said 7M on the weight. I had it listed for a long time, no one even PM'ed, so in the trash it went....you know, where the 7M belongs. :p

Just kidding

Man that is such a shame lol. well tbh, mine said neither 6M or 7M. It had A7 stamped on one of the weights with a U on another weight... Derek concluded that my JDM 7M must have come from a Soarer. Not sure which year soarers had 7M's so if anyone can confirm this? IF this is the case, then I guess my motor also had a teeny little bit more power from the factory =D.

As for my poor crank, I will have Sergio talk to his badass machinist to see if a technique called "Spray arc welding" can save my crank. If not, then I'll just go with a 6M crank. Actually Derek said that the only difference IJ found was bearing wear at around 8000 rpms? confirm/deny? not sure I'll even get close to 8k lol

OH!! that's news

btw I just realized I forgot to post pics of the teardown, so here we go:

Yes, a 7M will in fact fit in the trunk of an SC

As a result, baller slammed status here

What was left of crank/rod bearing #1

I think this is the result of burning A LOT of oil

Pains me to see this... I feel like I failed my poor Supra so bad :'(

And there you go, the strange stamps on my crank

It was smoother over 7000, never saw any difference in bearing wear.

It'll be expensive to reclaim the damaged crank, much cheaper to source another if possible.

ah... sounds good then, I guess we'll just go with one of his spare 6M cranks then. And get a badass balancing job done =D

OK peeps. I have decided to undertake the challenge of figuring out what AN fittings and hoses I need for all the oil lines, fuel lines and turbo oil lines.

The only reason I chose not to go with premade lines from driftmotion is because it would be cheaper to but the fittings and hoses and do it yourself, plus I like to be hands on. Another reason is simply because I don't like braided SS. It clashes too much with my already polish abundant engine bay, and it is rough on everything around it. I want to use black braided nylon hose. However, can I still use such a hose for a high pressure line for the PS?? Also I read that you can't mix and match AN fittings with hoses, so most likely I will be using Russel Brand fittings/hoses as they seem to be the only provider of said stuff in black. However, do ALL AN fittings fit with other AN fittings? IE, I got the AZP flanges from the DM oil softline kit for CT, but are those flanges made specifically for whatever brand fittings they provide? or can Russel brand fittings work with the flanges as well??? I'm so confused. I am completely new at this AN hose thing and the more threads I read the more my brain begins to spin.... *sigh

AN fittings are interchangeable as long they are the same size. Check the pressure rating of the hose. The braided hoses in my engine bay all have a clear cover tubing so it wont scratch anything and looks super nice but time consuming and costly.

Awesome thanks!! OK so, you can't mix brand A hoses with Brand B fittings, but you CAN mix Brand B fittings to Brand A, C, D fittings of the same AN size.

Drawring diagrams makes this so much easier LOL. Now I just need to figure out the fittings needed to adapt to AN for the fuel lines and stuff.

What rail are you using? If stock, they have nice J Fittings so it will automatically bring the line downward instead of the AN fitting being screwed into the rail and then a 90 on it.

Basically, you should match the hose to the hose ends, but the -AN fittings are all standard. I probably have some of the ones you need to adapt the factory stuff to -AN. At least the fuel hardline to -6AN one should work, the rest may or may not cross over to 7M land.
