I know what you're feeling, Andrew. Mine totaled to about the same amount in 2007. No idea where I'm at with it now. Sometimes I think it's best not to know. It's a hobby and a passion, not an investment.

For repairing plastic, I've found that the Loctite Plastic Bonder epoxy they sell at Lowe's works amazing. For a lip, you could also re-enforce the back side of the crack with some fiberglass cloth.

so. btw people. EPIC awesomeness is in order. Soon I shall have a new transmission and be able to finally drive around not hearing the swish of ruined torque converter. And then it's on to turbo upgrade and FINALLY mounting my badass exhaust. *sigh. Everything is on paper now, every part I need, every step in order of priority, most prices are there... I will soon estimate how much more I need to complete this last phase. As for time estimate, I want to say I will be completely done in another 6-7 months. Well, not COMPLETELY. LOL

Lookin' for some wheel feedback. Here is some photoshop work:

Choosing between XT-7's and XD-9's. I am leaning towards XD-9's because the XT-7's don't have a lip, which means the front and rear spokes will be at different angles, hence look weird. Opinions?

Also note that the spokes on the XD-9 look much slimmer than they really are. That is an after efffect of my photoshopping. Here is a good pic of just the wheels:

Also for sizing and offset, here is what I have, opinions on this too please:

yes, I know. Not trying to figure out if the car needs to be lowered, that's granted and it will be done according to schedule. Right now I'm trying to figure out which rims to get since that is the next unknown variable in my plan.

Ok. I have almost all the parts I need to do my overhaul of the power steering system. Does anyone have tips for me when it comes to swapping out the pump and rack?

Here are the parts I have:
non PPS rack
non PPS pump
steering tie rods
rack bushings (en route)

Parts I still need to get:
Mobil 1 dex 5 synthetic ATF
Magnefine inline filter

lock your steering wheel when changing the rack

OH!! that is a good point, do i lock the new rack as well?? or... what do I do to the rack?

just make sure the tie rod difference is split equally otherwise your steering wheel will be off center

Had to go to UPS to return something. Was fine on the way there, but once I had dropped off my box, upon restarting the car, heard a rattle... I had no choice but to drive on it all the way back home (about 30min) because I live in the fucking middle of nowhere. Consistent knocking noise above 2500 rpm. Consistently got worse the closer I got to home.

And then. I realized it's all my fault. I had neglected to factor in the fact that my turbo is leaking oil, and upon inspection of my engine, I found that I have a massive amount of oil everywhere coming from the breather tubes, which means my pcv system is awash with oil. My last oil change was about... jesus christ I can't even remember. fuck. I've been so busy with school that I totally forgot my maintenance schedule. And now I have an undriveable car, which I have no choice but to keep driving because I have no other car, and can't afford another car... wtf do I do now???

dude... how bad of idea is it to keep driving with rod knock until I can afford another engine?.... It pains me to even ask this question... and I know I am going to catch all sorts of heat on the forums for asking this, but I HONESTLY have no choice. I HAVE to be able to drive to class... or anywhere. You know I live in the middle of fucking nowhere... it's at least 30mins to get to anywhere.

Just drained my oil. Metal Shavings galore. yep... she's done. Time to build for 500hp or more. All I need is another DD to take me to school this week. My Supra is now officially project car status. Good things gotta come to an end sometime.
