I think the Eman has the highest recorded rpm at 7190 on the stock TCCS. (Missed a shift while boosting... engine just spun up to that rpm from the stock rev limit for the 6M crank.)
My crank is not stock however
It has 97.5mm of stroke, 327sbc rod journals spinning Pauter rods swinging ROSS pistons. (I belive the bearings are Clevites for the 327 rod size.) Mains are stock sized for the 7M, from Clevite as well.
Entire deal was balanced. Oil system is slightly customized
(Shimmed and ported pump, converted the crossover pipe to a full AN10 setup, removed the stock oil filter location, plugged the block and I'm using an external set of filters, and the oil cooler from a RX7 also converted to full AN10 sized fittings with the thermostat built into it. Accusump is in the rear hatch being used as my subwoofer grille.)
Valve springs are the Comp Cams BBC inner ones. Just for fun, we took a stocker from my engine, and tested it compared to the CC ones. The BBC springs are taller and slightly bigger around than the stockers. The wire size is smaller however, and the coil bind height is much better than the stock spring. I don't have the figures, but based on just eyeballing it, the stock springs would bind with any cam that has more lift than stock. (You have a few mm to play with, but not much more.) At the same installed height, the Comp springs had tons of room before they would bind. (You could run a huge lift cam and not have any coil bind issues, but without shimless buckets, it's a moot point.)
Pressures were the real reason I changed the springs. (That and they were totally less money than OEM springs new.) I don't remember the exact numbers, but the springs were in the range seat pressure wise as the 2JZ upgrade springs from Comp, but not so high they would cause seat wear issues.
Best less than 70.00 I've spent in many years... LOL
If I ever get a standalone, or re-clock my stock TCCS for a higher rpm limit, I'm thinking 7500rpm would be fine, and possibly even 8k is the upper limit for this setup. (Stroked that is.)
