no man, its just pure determination. i just really enjoy working on it. its my first build, and the first time i would say more complicated procedures than ripping apart snowmobiles and building random things from the junkyard goodies. i like it. and i just started college, i can take more classes on engine diagnostics or sumtin other than my major.

i would guess that i just have to prove it to myself that i can accomplish this build. its a test of my ability.

but i realize i need sleep i am hence thereforth pass out shortly and tomorow is my day off:icon_bigg
if its not raining, ill prob be starting it.

but anyways the only things i got done tonight before a very short scattered rain came out of nowhere was the throttle cables and brackets. the hose clamps i picked up were super shitty so ill pick those up tommorow.

Q. what is the purpose of this wire? it wasn't hooked up before the headgasket blew either. it is in the same place its been. i can't find anything it would go to.

its below the intake manifold.

the final phase.

everything just got put into the motor, all the lines, hoses, and wires were conneted. intercooler pipes were being a bitch, i need like 4 45 degree angle ones and its a little tight, but it will work for a week. filled the coolant, oil, and powersteering.

alternator, and hose behind it

p1180809_1.jpg

intake and intercooler piping hooked up

p1180809_2.jpg

sorry about the blurry pic again, but i will have a way better camera for tommorow and will have really good pics

p1180809_3.jpg

then i hooked up the battery cable, went through everything to make sure that its all hooked up right and whatnot. then i proceded to start it. it took a couple cranks, then slowly picked up. then through the crack in the hood being up, i saw fuel spraying upwards by the intake. one hose on the fuel rail wasn't tight enough, and on the cold start injector. then started it again. it was running a little rough on the low side, i had to give it slight amount of gas too keep running. that might just be the idle though. i know i have to go back and adjust the timing a little bit. then i shut it off and noticed that the only thing leaking was the oil hose at the oil cooler spigit. i will tinker with it tommorow.

...but how does it run?

i havent gotten a chance to mess with it since yesterday when i first started it.
its runnin real rough like it sluggish and doesn't want to run. i need to tweak the timing some more, and make sure the cps is in the right spot. it'll run on its own though at about 500rpms.

i also have to buy a new cone filter
input?
questions?

Apexi dry filter. The oil on the K&N filters can mess with the afm and cause idling issues.
I copied this link off of SC signature, which btw, has the answers to all common supra problems. His sig has a shitload of informative links.

i have been too busy lately, and just got frustrated and just decided to tow the car into the local high performance shop. They are tweaking the timing, and tuning the motor and checking to make sure the motor is built properly. simply because this is my first build and i really want it done right. it'll be ready by fri or sat hopefully.:icon_bigg

okay guys. shit just hit the fan again. today, i got the call from the shop. decided to go pick it up. they pulled a code 51 from the ecu, determined that the CPS was pretty much shot, got the timing correct with(get this 20% retardation):3d_frown: then a couple little nicknacs. car was running fine and i was driving it about 30 miles from there to home. it had a slight knocking sound at idle, but i kept a VERY close ear to it, started driving it home, and amongst the most awesome feeling in the world driving it again, i stop at a gas station and put more coolant in, and check the oil. oil was Low so put more in, then proceeded, turned out of the gas station and down the next street where i started hearing a more or less NOT COOL NOISE and then the car completely dies. i opened the hood and saw that the timing was thrown off again with the exhaust cam being at 50 degrees from tdc and the intake being about 20 from tdc. i checked the crank pulley and found that the mark was on the bottom right looking at it from the top. i beleive that the keyway or the "pin" that is in the crank pulley broke and thus therefore made the timing belt jump. or the cam pin broke. making me go more time without my car. i really am starting to get frustrated with this motor. anyways, it was directly towed back to the shop.
