anybody's setup. But all I needed to know is if they both had the same clearance. I may have to use the GE fan until i can get my hands on a GTE. Thanks much hvyman

Theres about inch and a half of clearance using the stock radiator and ls400/10 blade setup. Its super quiet too which is one reason why i dont want to get rid of it. I can get a pic of clearance later today.

I am using the stock 7M fan with my SC400 clutch and 2JZ water pump, everything works great, the engine has not run hot yet. I had to ditch the stock 7M shroud though since I had clearance issues. Still, the temp gets to 160 and stays there all day long

Just to update the thread. I'm running the following on my mk3

2jz-GTE (aristo)
LS400 Clutch fan (thanks DM)
7m clutch fan I think it was from a GE though (can't remember)
PWR rad

All fits, next I'll buy a shroud to see if that fits.... The only problem I have is there is so much friction that it's causing my belt to slip under fast gas jabbing or boost in 1st or 2nd gear since it spins up so fast....

Any suggestions?

Pretty sure its mech.

Zazzn pretty sure you need to turbo fan on the ls400 clutch. Ge one is not heavy enough.

I dont know if it's just me or what, but I have read so many different combinations of fan setups on here, now I am confused!
Im doing a 2JZ-GTE (from a mk4 supra) swap into my 1990 MK3 supra. I am trying to stay away from the e-fan route - as I have heard a lot of negatives.

So that being said, can someone who has done / or has knowledge of a 2jz-gte swap in a mk3 point me in the right direction here.

correct ^

some trimming on the back of the blades may be needed to clear the water-neck, but everything else should be a bolt-on affair.

That's good space.

I'm using the 2jzge clutch and blade. Blade needs to be trimmed but its sits much farther back allowing for a bigger radiator no problem. You can get heavier weight fluid as well for the clutch if you want it to lock up more often.

The 7M fan blades don't fit the 2J fan clutches. The fan mount diameter is over an inch larger on the 2J fan clutch so the hole is to large for the 7M fan to fit around, unless there is an aftermarket clutch with a smaller fan mount diameter for the 2j.

PIC of clearance between fan and rad please.

also what do you mean by heavier weight fluid for the clutch?
