that may be true.. or they're different part numbers. now that I think of it, I had another 2J clutch on my car before, and the spacing was fine. after buying my current one from driftmotion, I had to space out the fan to keep it from hitting the waterneck.. this makes me doubt what setup I'm actually running versus what I had thought previously.

PM Jeff Lange on the part numbers if you want a straight answer.

i guess the correct clutch fan would be from the car that comes with the waterneck on the left side, with the hose running across..sc300 waterneck's are on the right side i think and the hose runs vertical

negative, all JZ motors have the waterneck on the left side.

the JZ powered SC/Soarer, Supra, GS/Aristo, IS/Altezza, JZX (Chaser, Mark II, Cresta, etc), and whatever other JZ powered chassis all have the radiator hose crossing in front of the motor.

EDIT: only true of GTE motors (how the N/A design managed to slip my mind is beyond me).

Negative, 2JZ-GE's have the water neck on the other side compared to 2JZ-GTE's. (2JZ-GTE = right side, 2JZ-GE = left side).

that's what I get for my limited knowledge of the N/A motors.. I should stick to GTEs haha.

is there a reason for the switch to the other side, Jeff? (there's always a reason, or so I hope)

I can only assume it was due to the distributor being in the way on the other side, and then the VVT-i 2JZ-GE's just kept it the same? For the GTE the intake was in the way of having the water neck on the same side as the GE, plus it makes it easier having it on the same side as the turbos for water cooling.

all NA's the waternecks are on the the right side. so i guess the only way to get the correct setup would be to use the gte clutch and ge blade..

GTE clutch and GTE fanblade would be ideal (for stock fitment).. the GTE clutch and GE fanblade would likely still have issues with the waterneck.

Yeah..this should go sticky. Very good infos on the JZ swap motors and clutch/fan setups.
I got a 2jz-gte motor (now single turbo),with a 2jz-gte clutch and a 2jz-gte fan blade. I have a stock MA70
radiator along with a stock MA70 fan shroud. It fits very well...a little tight, but without any issues.

But for a future upgrade on an aftermarket radiator (koyo, fluidyne, mishimoto, etc.) I'll go with a 2jz-ge fan blade and I
will shorten the water neck to get the desired clearance, without the need to use any spacers.

# also use the stock JZA70 engine mount/brackets on my 2jzgte engine.

Is it possible to use a 7mge fan blade or the sc400 fan blade? I have a haste radiator i have to clear. Currently have an sc400/ls400 fan clutch now i just need to figure out which fan blades i can use with the aftermarket radiator.

I use the ls400 clutch/7m 10 blade fan. Im on stock rad tho.

Edit: Whats everyones radiator/fan setups. I want/need a bigger radiator but idk which one to get as far as clearance. The only reason i want the mishimoto is for lifetime warrenty. Its a hell of a selling point.
