IMHO the reason the MKIV's run faster in the 1/4 than us is the simple fact that they can get more tire in back...
That and they seem to have LOTS of practice![Big Grin :D :D](data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7)

If i wanted to build a 2j i would have...

ZFast300Z;1221496 said:You think the a70 crowd is bad. Hang out on some Z31 forums. Most dont have the budget for a 300hp build, and that only requires a 3" turbo-back, intercooler (we didnt get one stock), and a boost controller.
Electramotive made around 1000 horsepower on the stock crank before upgrading it for endurance racing. The big problem is the single cam VG heads. Nismo used a completely different head casting for the VG race cars.
I would much rather start a 1000HP build with a 7m then a VG30E.
Supracentral;1217206 said:True. And most 2JZ powered cars are damned near undriveable in that condition as well. By the time you get the headwork, cams, turbo & clutch to generate and hold all that power, it's certainly not "streetable". You can drive it on the street, but as I said earlier it's not fun.
And you had better hope you never get stuck in bumper to bumper...
