Q: Forcing ECU into Open Loop (7MGE)

Is there any way to force the ECU into open loop? Disconnect the O2 sensor? Give it a set voltage value? When does open loop happen on a MGE? I have a MAFT Pro set up and it seems like the Maft Pro and stock ECU are fighting each other. I will make a change to the % fuel added and see a...

Hopefully someone gets the bugs ironed out. For MAFT Pro's sake, it would make it a killer piggy back. I can't do too much experimenting because the car is my daily driver. Oh and the drawing is for a GTE. Though I don't know what would be different for a GE. The both have the same input and...

Dr. J resoponded to my post at Full Throttle. He said it is not supported but it does work. That was all he said. I'm still working on hooding mine up.

    timing control

I just whittled down a 20 pin mother board power supply of an old computer power supply I had lying around. I had to do some cutting of the plastic around two of the pins to keep the latching capability. I also go a 2 pin connector off of it for power when not in the car, it doesn't latch but it...

Thanks for clearing it up CRE I am going to set up Timing Monitor and then see what I can do with Timing Control.

    timing control

Boltz said that for timing CONTROL you don't clip the resistor Pimp said for timing MONITOR you clip the resistor. According to Dr. J for the timing MONITOR you need to clip the resistor. For timing CONTROL, right now its anyones guess if you clip the resistor or not. Monitor and Control are...

Any update on timing control? What version of SW is needed? Settings? Are the Mods to the board the same as the Timing Monitor mods? Is the diagram below how to hook it up?

Is it possible to use a 7M distributer inplace of a 7M CPS??

I'm more interested in the signals, can I use the signals from the 7M dist (mine is a modified 5M dist) to run the GTE ECU. It sounds like I can. I just want to make sure before I rewire my engine bay, again. Nice mod on the dist (dizzy).

Is it possible to use a 7M distributer inplace of a 7M CPS??

Dirgle: you are correct. I would not use the cap, rotor, coil, or wire as those would be replaced by GTE/2J VVTI electronics. Right now I have my 6MGE running on 7MGE electronics. Here is a link for those who are interested: http://www.7mpowered.com/forum/showthread.php?t=427

What happened at higher boost levels? Did you notice any problems with RPM?

Is it possible to use a 7M distributer inplace of a 7M CPS??

For running 7MGTE electronics on a 6MGE. The CPS will not fit due to the location of the fuel rail on the 6MGE head. Not looking for what alternatives I could use. I know this is the hard way and it is what I am choosing to do.

Is it possible to use a 7M distributer inplace of a 7M CPS??

I don't know what section to put this in. There needs to be a Engine Externals / Electrical to match with the Engine Internals / Mechanical. Anyway. Can I use the 7M distributer for the G-, G1, G2 and Ne signals. The trigger wheels look the same. Has anyone tried it? Has anyone wanted...

writeup: MAFT Pro install for 7M-GE

What changes would need to be made to the settings you posted earlier to run Speed Density? Or, would I be able to use the settings for a turbo set up? Like from this thread: http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?t=11783

writeup: MAFT Pro install for 7M-GE

Are you still thinking about going the speed density route? What would it take to get from where you are now to speed density? Would it be the same as a GTE set up or are there different things to consider? I have searched on this site and I can't find anyone who has done SD on a N/A. Thanks
