you sure i thought i just tapped igf for timming monitor??? and cut the resistor.

I'm missing your confusion. From my point of view it looks like you both just said the same thing.

So there's seriously not ONE person using this feature at the moment?

Boltz said that for timing CONTROL you don't clip the resistor
Pimp said for timing MONITOR you clip the resistor.

According to Dr. J for the timing MONITOR you need to clip the resistor.

For timing CONTROL, right now its anyones guess if you clip the resistor or not.

Monitor and Control are different things. I would think you would have to do the same resistor mod for Control and you would for Monitor. But then again that is why we are asking the question.

Okay, I missed that. The timing monitoring and timing control are both on different parts of the circuit. The R7 resistor is only connected to the MAF freq input line and is only used for MAF input. If you're using timing monitoring which uses that input the R7 resistor does need to be removed. (Note: You can not use timing monitoring if you are using a MAF.)

Timing control doesn't have anything to do with that resistor. Although, if you are going to use timing control you really should setup timing monitoring.

I've been waiting for someone to get this setup and running... I'm surprised no one is using this feature yet. I've just got to order the connectors for the MAFT Pro to make a harness.

I just whittled down a 20 pin mother board power supply of an old computer power supply I had lying around. I had to do some cutting of the plastic around two of the pins to keep the latching capability. I also go a 2 pin connector off of it for power when not in the car, it doesn't latch but it is for short periods of time that I will be watching it anyway.

I'm going to begin my install here in a few hours, after I get off of work.

Yeah, I heard that you could use an ATX connector from someone on here...

Anyway, I'm pretty sure I've found the part numbers for the three connectors and pins from Molex. So I think I'll just wait and go that route.

Dr. J resoponded to my post at Full Throttle. He said it is not supported but it does work. That was all he said.

I'm still working on hooding mine up.

Is he even running it? Is anyone? I know a few people tried, using the diagram posted above, but they got nowhere.... either they're setting up the MAFT Pro incorrectly or the diagram's wrong. I wouldn't find either hard to believe.

Hopefully someone gets the bugs ironed out. For MAFT Pro's sake, it would make it a killer piggy back.

I can't do too much experimenting because the car is my daily driver.

Oh and the drawing is for a GTE. Though I don't know what would be different for a GE. The both have the same input and outputs according to the diagram.

Would be interesting to know who is tying to get it to work.

Here is the full throttle post, although I realize it is in the wrong section.

nice ive been waiting for this,

i'll make the changes to my pro as soon as i get an idea what my timming needs to be in the upper rpm ranges.

and how it works of course, i will be swaping my pro to a different harness and figured it would be very easy to do so during the car swap.

ROFL.... you're killing me here, seriously. The MAFT Pro already is a killer piggyback and the vast majority of the bugs have been figured out (well, for the GTE anyway.... me and the only other N/A running it are both still having problems with our tunes shifting drastically).

Just curious, for those of you running the timing monitor, what the highest advance you guys have seen? I haven't looked at it too closely yet, but +50º is more than I expected to see.
