So i ran into another dam problem! I got the car to start again this morning, timed up everything again, sprayed some starter fluid and bam she turned on (not so easy tho) Once it was on i timed it with the gun and left it running to warm up. Then i turned it off (DIDNT TOUCH A SINGLE THING...
I dont understand this car! I turned it on let it warm up and timed it. Then i turned it off to finish up other stuff and wen i come bak to turn it on it will only crank again and i have a jumper on the battery incase its low!
And i didnt move anything this time
Im getting spark and injectors connectors are getting power. What i want to know is that when you time the car with te1 and e1 jumped will you get a different reading when they are not jumped? Because thats what got me to worry.
And i noticed i timed the car without the 02 sensor connected...
It wont run. So what your saying is the timing was right after i removed the jumper on te1 and e1 even though it was way off when i checked with the timing gun? I left the battery unplugged tonight to reset the computer to give it another try tomorrow. SHould it turn on after i retime it again?
So i turned on the car the other day. Today it turned on so i decided to time it. I did the proper timing, jumped te and e i believe dont remember but i know it was right lol so i timed it got it to 10' then i went back to check again with the pin off and it was waaaay off so i was like wtf? i...
I might be lucky because surprisingly all fuses were still good hahah lucky me. But i got the car started today!!!!
So my noob problems were the ground and 12v were on top of each other. And the cps was off thats why the injectors weren't getting proper signal to pulse. Hey we all learn from...
What I did was I bolted the ground to the starter and on top of that I have tge 12v battery cable. This harness doesnt have the 12v cable wired up in it but let see if thats even the problem
wow if im not mistaking i have a feeling that i mounted that on the starter with the batter power cable! it seemed right because like u said they are long enough lol, im thinking that explains my car cranking on its own when the battery is connected? I will check this tomorrow and if i am right...
Is it under it? If someone has a picture of that ground that would be great but when i put my harness on i dont remember any ground wire on the intake manifold. I have a feeling the owner of the donor car i bought for the swap did some bs hacking on the harness but since this is my first swap i...
I have ground from the head to the chassis, battery to block, and another one down in the tranny to chassis. Would i need a separate ground from the block to the chassis? Or is the battery ground on the block good enough
I did check my cps, i checked it like 3 times. The hole is alined with the notch and i actually move it a tooth so when it goes in it aligns the way it should.
I know the harnesses were different witch is why i swaped every harness in the car (pain in the butt) there was only two plugs i...
So after all my hard work I'm very disappointed in the results so far:nono:
To start off i swapped a 7mgte from a 88 with all the harness and body harness into my 89 NA car. I hooked up everything and it would crank but wouldn't turn on. I tested for spark and had none. I tested for signal...
SO! There is a common question us guys ask that are doing a 7mgte swap for the first time. I have done my research and there is no clear answer to this question!
What exact plugs do you need to repin to make the body harness work for a 88 7mgte swap into an 89? Does the 89 body harness and...
