thats the range I am shooting for. What exhaust housing will fit? Have to be garrett I guess?
Anyone know why that double turbo set up is like it is? I still don't understand that setup. Thanks for all the input...
OK the big garrett turbo came off a 2006 F-series 6.0 diesel engine. The exhaust side of the turbo says A/R .9 M3 The intake side says A/R .58 Is that the trim?
these I think are the same...
It came off the bigger powerstroke I think. We build them were I work, but also build larger diesel engines. Some of them have a smaller twin turbo set up, and some have the larger single turbo. I dont understand the two turbo set up because they have two different size turbos that pipe into...
so the -9.9 is bad? Is that to much vac? I was under the impression that you want a good vacuum until you start boosting. I really confused now.:aigo: :1zhelp:
K will talk to him, I just wanted to know if these can be used later on. They are to big for my car at the moment. Maybe I can trade one for a smaller turbo that would be an upgrade to mine. I figure they were pretty expensive if you just bought turbo's this size and brand. They say .58 is...
LOL I am such a newb.
Oh and i forgot that the greddy doesn't put a point on its PSI, so when I am at 8 lbs boost it reads 80, so when I am at -71 or -91 its actually -7 or -9.
I feel like such an idiot. lol At least my car isnt about to blow up. he he
No because i happen to own two large garret turbos, and hoped I might could use one later on when I upgrade and save about a grand. :naughty:
I'm new to turbo's and just wanted to know if they were the same or not.
My girlfriend said her brakes were squealing so I told her to tell her dad to oil her brakepads so they would quit. LMAO She actually went and told him that, and the look he gave her was priceless. :)
I am guilty though too. I put pure synthetic oil in my stealth, and it started smoking...
Yeah they did. She is back in Kurri Kurri NSW. BTW after she was gone they discovered that my moms opal necklace was gone, and they got a $1,500.00 phone bill were she called australia all day while they were at work. :nono:
Every country has some bad apples. I would still love to have...
Can large Turbo's from diesel engines be used on a upgraded supra? I dont know what the difference is on the Turbo's. Like say off a Powerstroke Engine from a Ford Truck for instance. Could that be retrofitted to work on a car application? I will get some numbers off of them and post them...
I got them at the Toyota parts dept., but they weren't OEM, they were some brand I have never heard of. I went back and put larger ones on, but I will order the ones you are talking about when I get caught up alittle. I have spent so much on my two supra's, that my fiancee may be changing more...
I have a Profec spec II, and it reads -71 to -99 at idle. What measurement is it reading in? It went to "0" when my vacuum hoses popped off, but I got them all fixed. Are those good readings?
I have a whine too, but I am boosting fine. I checked my shaft and have no play, so I am thinking I have an intake leak of something. I have no smoke or anything either. Just whines when I get on it real hard. I just redone all my vacuum lines, so has to be an intake leak. Could that be...
It is a good practice to let your turbo cool down before you turn your car off though right? I read it in here somewhere to let it idle for a minute or so after you run it, esspecially after you run it hard, before you turn off your ignition. That is correct isn't it?
I tried to do good, and replaced ALL my vacuum lines with some cool blue ones that I got from Toyota. Everything was fine that day. SupraHero said "Don't those MELT? It gets hot under the hoods of these cars." Well I guess he was right. My vacumm reading went from -71 were it usually runs...
