the car would cut out at higher rpms and was told it was fuel cut. then it started cutting out lower and lower till it was down to about 3k. now it wont start. it was'nt that noticable till i took it on a trip to niagra falls and by the time i got home it was done. mechanic told me it's a bent...
"Replace that with a good 3" DP and you should net at least 25-30HP to the wheels"
really!!! wow well i was going to replace the intercooler and piping and manifold when i tear this thing down anyway so i'm happy to hear i'm going to see more hp out it.
ya i'll be doing some reading...
well i'm thinking i might retire it to the garage now instead of in the fall. and maybe just start going through everything and seeing exactly what i have.
"When you say boost shoots to 15-16 psi and then drops, around to what PSI does it drop to? "
it will fall back down to about 5psi...
ya iv been reading a ton of these threads but the abbreviations always throw me off. like i said I'll be up to speed shortly till then I'll try to keep my dumb questions to a minimum ;)
oh and lewis15498 my wife and i laughed our hineys off at you're avatar.. that is hilarious.
wow lot of reply's.... thank you. now please bear with me cuz I'm so new to this motor and a lot of the things you guys said went right over my head. so i apologize ahead of time for stupid comments lol. iv built 430hp carburated Chevy 350's but never messed with a fuel injected turbo car so...
OK was told this is probably turbo lag and since this is my first turbo car i hope I'm not being a bother to ask just to set my mind at ease. before boost kicks in it feels like (if it was a carburetor i would say a bog down) it kinda hesitates and sputters just a bit and then the turbo kicks in...
ya i seen supra_girl on youtube and hers looks pretty nice yellow. i could do yellow exterior and yellow and black interior.
as far as budget.... i'm not sure yet what i want to spend. i dont plan on really tearing into it till the end of summer so i'll see what i have then.
ya that burgundy doesn't leave much for desire :) i'm going to redo most of it with rid and black and probably get some racing seats or something. the rear seats are trashed so i might pull them out all together and do something with a stereo system back there not sure yet. but it's looking like...
lol OK i don't get the mac n cheese post ? anyway the consensus seems to be a solid color. my wife seems to think so as well. since the interior is burgundy and red. i plan on changing the interior to red and black. i was going to test some sema interior paint to see how well it will stick to...
hey forced induction, your not offending me at all with you're opinions. i just got this car so that interior is not my work. i plan on pulling it all out and redoing it. this car is going to get a nice make over. iv restored a lot cars over the last 5yrs and this one is going to get my best...
not really trying to please anyone just looking for ideas. i love black, i've painted quite a few cars black. it shines nice, it looks mean, and rims and lots of different interior colors can go well with it. i just like to be different sometimes with my cars as well.
lol no green huh lol. well i seen a nice deep metallic green mk3 on you tube with tinted windows and a nice set of chrome rims and it really caught my eye. how about the picture of the green and blue further up in this thread only with black as the base and red as the design? it's pearl white...
well attached is the interior. i'm going to change the interior a little. i was thinking one color and no designs as well but then i thought why not be unique also. i mean these cars are fun to ride and very eye catchy....
stand out or go clean... not sure yet. kinda was hoping for some good...
