NC is not supposed to be plugged. It's a vent to bleed off pressure guys!
How's the Profec supposed to bleed off boost to control the wastegate if you close the vent port? It even states this explicitly in the manual.
There's a thread over on (ugh) SF in the canadian section by JAYMEZ that tells you EXACTLY what you need to do to bring the car from the USA to Canada.
if the car was sitting for a while, it's very possible some of the moving joints have mecome rusty, and are hindering movement.
My 83 Celica had one headlight stuck down becuase the arm was rusted. After some WD-40, it worked like new.
The brackets will come off with the bumper.
There's the two grilles beside the turn signals. Take those out, there are some screws behind them.
If you look up from the bottom, you should see the two bolts that hold teh fog lights in. Take them out, I believe there are some bolts behind...
Opinions on 4.10?
Well, highway milage isn't that bad in my car, around 9.5-10l/100km, whatever that works out to in MPG. Cruises a little high for my liking (about 4000 cruising at 140km/h), but gets into boost fast that way.
I break my 285s loose at 100km/h.
I'm considering droping...
If you're boost is falling off, raise the gain a bunch, and back off on the WG duty cycle a bit. This will level out the slope of the boost curve a little.
you're not going to be making any more power above 17psi tops.
Stock injectors won't usually lean out terribly past that point, but I would suggest a wideband just to be safe if you're pushing past 14.
Make sure you grease the bushings. They will loosen up a little after some use. Mine did that initially too.
You won't need the bushings if you go C's.
I know it's a dumb question, but is the BOV hooked up properly?
I never ad problems on my 1JZ with my SSQV (real) in stock location, and my stock twins.
....my GT40 was a surge monster though. I ended up taking the spring out of the WG, heating it up, and compressing it to lower the tension.
It's not a sore spot, I just didn't think anyoe else actually knew about that thread.
I was probably one of what, 4 people on toymods who actually had a working 1.5JZ? I figure that's worth something. Most of the comments on there are rumors and hearsay.
oh god. The toymods 1.5JZ thread.
Ok, the oil feed on the 1JZ and 2JZ don't perfectly line up. The 1JZ head gasket has a larger opening for the feed in it. This larger opening sort of fills in the area between the offset holes so that oil gets up there.
It won't be AS MUCH oil as normal, but...
I know the light means low brake fluid only because my old RA64 had this chronic brake fluid leak, and would lose a litre a week, then the light would come on :p
so don't feel too bad about not knowing it. I mean, honestly, how often does that light EVER come on to mean low fluid.
I have a build thread on another forum, but I don't really want to link to it. The forum's full of morons who make stupid comments on everything. There's a thread in this section I made which more or less summarizes the thread. It was a 1JZ build thread, then I wrecked the bottom end, and went...
