brass is a better conductor of heat, Al is lighter. not to mention brass/copper cores are typically soldered/brazed....Al has held the market for a variety of reasons, cost being number 1.
i ran a scirroco (drag race) form factor rad for a few years. it sucked. the A70 NEEDS a big rad. if it was a drag-only you'd be fine....but forget it if you're going to be driving around at all.

there are plenty of small batteries that can be used in DD conditions. the 680 is one, though it won't do so well in cold climates. there are plenty of local guys (i.e. here in MI, i.e. semi-cold winters) that run this battery...
totally depends on what temps you'll be driving in.
MT-90 is heavier than MTL.
MTL if you'll be driving in the cold. though MT-90 will work as well, just be ready for it to whine a bit when cold.
if you're not driving in the cold, heavy shockproof.
