Well, i always check my fluids when i go mess around. So last night we went to go drift, i had nice oil level and on the way there i raced a lightning , we were close untill i hit 4th gear, then i backed off the throttle. I Was doing some 8ths and some 360's and some doris. I went to go park and my oil level was fine;untill i was at an idle. it was at 0. so i GO WTF. shut the motor. Started the motor and i can hear the knock i wanted to cry. Checked my oil and no oil. WTF. My buddy goes to pilot truck stop, gets me some 10-40 and nope, no oil pressure still at 0 , but oil level is fine. Drove it for 5 miles, got home and just went to sleep. So how does that happen? how do i loose all of my oil in 15 minutes of driving?

So i have another block that had rod knock , can i just rebuild it and use the same pistons but new bearings and rods? looking for 500 or a lil bit more.

what do you guys recommend?

i miss my car
Off to wingstop im hungry.

bad turbo, valve stem seals, rings, PCV system...

any of that being faulty can cause tons of oil to be burned or lost.

also, I'd recommend one of the better oil pans that are being made with baffles to keep the oil by the pickup.

How do you guys rod knock? I have ran low on oil on this engine on this same oil filter at least 3 times lol. Sorry I just don't give a crap about my engine but it doesn't want to blow up. Oh and low on oil = not showing up on dip stick. Yup I am a 7M beater.

I ran my shit hard all the time.
Previous owners of the car i had were DIp shits so yeah, people did not take care of them. So what should i do?
What do you guys recommend ?
should i reuse the stock pistons to rebuild the bottom end yes or no?
any smart comments are appreciated

just do a build up

more importantly, get rid of the stock oil setup. Go to a dry sump or at least get a pan with baffles and make sure it's never starved for oil...

If you want a legal swap you can do a 2J. As for fixing your car someone smarter will help.

*edit* Poodles too fast for me.

Why not go 1J? I am!

1JZ = fast relief for chronic rod knock. LOL

and I am sure you will love it, but "chronic" rod knock is user error.

Ran low and beat on? Man, your lucky, but makes a good point.

i Run my car hard all the time and dont have rod knock and its been a year. Rebuild the motor with new pistons and have every thing checked and replaced (bearings, seals, hoses). New oil pump shimmed correctly, etc. Your starving your motor of oil when you drift, so dont do it.

he's constantly side loading the car, meaning he can quite easily be pulling the oil away from the oil pickup (this is why the group-a cars had larger pans with baffles)

it's 100% common in ANY car to have these issues if it's used in the application, just some are more resistant to damage than others. 7M doesn't tolerate low oil, period.
