Yeah, the 200 here and 300 there adds up. My biggest problem is not understanding the routing and all the parts. I know my turbo, but I know it as it sits... my understanding of the wastegate, etc, generally runs to what is there stock. External wastegate configuration is a tad confusing for me...
Found this... odd how cheap it is.. but its the same kit as the DM version.. lol

and considering the fact that DM provides no support...
I just talked to my mechanic and im thinking your right. Im going to see if I cant get the stand alone installed and tuned with existing setup first, then gauge what I want and give myself a year to get the upgrades assembled.
Definitely still want to go with a T4 though (I think that's the...
Pricewise, I am trying to stay under 2000 for the whole thing. (turbo/manifold/lines, etc... )
I can go a higher if quality is key and I guess I will have to sell my Raptor DDP.. which shouldn't be too hard. (actually should be fairly simple.. lol)
I also intend on keeping the AFM in my setup...
I have a 60-1 CT26 on my car now (with a lot of other upgrades to accommodate) and am not really impressed with how it runs. The 57 Trim felt a lot peppier on the road and I think that my butt is getting too used to the CT26 pull and now just thinks its normal... lol.
So.. I want to upgrade my...
I bought a "one-off" HKS Fcon Vpro with tables for a 7MGTE and harness for my engine as well (yellow plug though). Its on its way from Japan.. only one in the world..
HKS built it and actually made tables for the 7M for someone in Alaska who abandoned it when his engine died... so Reg Reimer...
The AFM meters the air coming in, so if you don't recirc it will cause issues because the air will be different than what the ECU expects.
Also, I am not sure about this yet and have not attacked it, but I turned the fuel pressure from my MKIV denso fuel pump down to 25 psi because with a 60-1...
I think for the price, its pretty decent. My issues were that the flange wasn't in a good spot for the BOV to recirculate. Also, the bracket on the 3000 pipe replacement was about 1" off from where it should be. The next issue was the bend of the 3000 pipe elbow would have ran the pipe straight...
I have the kit but I got the authentic HKS bov. Aaron says the replica is fine but you eill have to excuse me for not being a believer.
Biggest problem with that kit is simply that the bov flange is directly above the recirculating point causing a bit if an issue. Not an issue if your...
My car used a Toyota paint (label is in my build thread) that is slightly darker than stock grey and is very metallic. I used the grey with a red flip so that it makes the car look very close to black at night. Personally (just as a preference) I would use a grey similar to mine with anothe...
FYI... I cut the flex pipe off of my DP because it made it too tight to the firewall where the speedo came up. You don't need a flexpipe unless your running cats I think. (I'm not)
Flex pipe gone.. it all fit perfectly (with a custom test pipe).
If you can afford quality.. Raptor Racing has...
Well, ended up snagging a one off HKS Fcon VPro made specifically by HKS for a 7MGTE. Only one in the world.. lol. The harness is for a 7M as well although its yellow plug and I think that's for 89+, not sure about that though. Was built for someone in Alaska, but their engine cratered so its...
I like the MK3 because I find a lot of it was over-engineered. Its why I decided to keep the car and pour copious amounts of Legal Tender into it...
After owning new cars, other than the simplicity and perhaps elegance of the comfy new bells-and-whistles newer versions, I prefer the beasty...
Well, its Reg Reimer's mechanic that torqued them, think he said it was 109, could have been a bit less. Definitely over 100 ft. lbs. though, but I will be seeing them this afternoon after they dyno my car anyway. (hopefully it gets finished today).
Last stage on my car... until I get the HKS...
Generally speaking, if you had headstuds and a MHG.. you should never see a BHG unless you overheated
I think mine are torqued to 109 ft/lbs... I have to check that... its a spec I should know.. rofl.
in regards to exhaust studs.. usually you only have to fix them once.. after that, they...
