Yeah that's what I thought but I had to turn my fuel pump down to 25 psi at the AFPR to prevent it from going so rich it was washing oil off the cylinder walls at WOT.
Have to look at what duty cycle a 550 cc injector is doing at less than 400 rwhp. ( not an expert, so I could be wrong...
No, all you need is the Lexus AFM and the 550's. the AFPR is mostly for if you get a fuel pump with more flow. Personally I wouldn't touch a FCD because it takes away the computers ability to protect you from running lean.
According to Reg Reimer you don't need a bigger fuel pump with 550's...
Yeah, your not gonna have to worry about fuel cut... lol. And why would you need to fully build? Sounds like you have a solid engine already (if its done right with those parts).
I wouldn't touch it unless it was having issues or your shooting for something over the 600 HP mark.
I kinda skimmed through all the thread... isn't the simple answer... "you wont hit fuel cut". Period?
A 60-1 CT 26 will be able to do 14-18 psi, however (and this is my opinion from having exactly that... a 60-1 with 550 injectors and a Lex AFM) your going to be putting a lot of load on a turbo...
I have never done this so have no idea what you could have done by reversing the polarity. I do know that there is a fuse from the battery to the car itself (fusable link would be more apt... at least I believe there is one). If that blows your car will not run until it is replaced.
Not sure if...
Yeah, my 57Trim from DM lasted about 500 km. Was pumping a litre of oil per 100 km.. but no word from DM about what the issue was. You do have a 9 month warranty on Driftmotion's turbos...
However, I don't know if its the turbo. Depends on how your oil is burning.
If its after a good...
Actually.. being a mechanic for a larger company will win out over a dealership... but most don't look at that.
My opinion is... $$ vs Skill.
Absolutely nothing wrong with the 7M provided you aren't starting with one that has been abused to the point of being flawed. Good head, good block...
Well, I will fix the turbo one way or another, because the 60-1 only has about 3000 km on it (bought it used, but that's how much mileage previous owner claimed... he lives just a couple blocks from me). I may be looking at the wrong stamping.
This is a photo of the 57 Trim.. it has an A on...
Yes, generally my thought was to stay with the stock manifold and a CT26, although it is still a peppy car, is not really upgrading properly. If I go T4oe (at the very least) it will give me some mods to do for the downpipe and intercooler and I will have to replace the manifold (which is really...
My Denso MKIV fuel pump and Aeromotive AFPR setup holds the pressure overnight as well with a slight bleed off. Haven't watched it over a couple of days though.
Haven't had a chance to diagnose it yet. I can get an actuator locally... Im trying to avoid DM for now...
of course.. if I didn't have a wife, I would be running a MoTeC standalone.. :)
Was looking at the Boss series.. they look impressive as well. If I cant find anything wrong with the...
I looked at options and AEM isn't bad, but it isn't what I want for various reasons. Money isn't the issue really, its overall reliability. I pay RCTS to work on my car because I make more working for me than I do working on my car. (its simple finances really. My time is worth more doing work...
I did prior to installing it. It wasn't too bad until I put the upgraded intercooler on. That's when the pressure drop occurred. The shop has gone over the install and there are no leaks. Pressure never changed when I added the HKS BOV and removed the stock BOV either. If I run with no boost...
I do have a turbo timer on the car for when I do runs. I set it for 2 min and if I haven't ran hard, I just hit the power button to cut it off manually, otherwise it sits and shuts itself off.
Thinking that to upgrade the turbo I should go with the T4 anyway. I think I better get this turbo...
Is it best to try to get a turbo that is both water and oil cooled like the CT26 or a simple oil cooled only? Seems like the ball bearing garrets are oil cooled only?
yep, I had mine made specifically for the HKS BOV, but its also made for when I go standalone. Its in an area where it turns 90 degrees and uses a very small tube to vent into the accordion hose again. I will take pics when the snow stops.
omg... love that link. You know... we all think it.. but we rarely voice it... :D
(my wife throws things at me when I comment on that... or.. how you can empty a uzi in about 15 seconds.. yet the fire fight just lasted for 3 minutes.
lol, just saw this. (late)
I did my teen years in Swift (back in the 70's mind you).. Best city I have ever 'rat-raced" in. Good to see someone picked up that MK3. Hopefully you keep it going.. its a nice ride.
