yeah.. and ARP studs help. Personally I wouldn't pre-buy the headgasket until you know the correct thickness. The ARP's are just a given. And you should plan to helicoil the exhaust manifold studs.
Of course.. it actually may NOT be a BHG... it just sounds like one.
btw.. I think your car is...
I have had 2 MK3's do this. Filled the reservoir up. Both times.. BHG.. sorry... but that's how we roll ... lol.
Hiding from it wont help. Test.
Oh yeah.. both times I had your attitude... "couldn't be a BHG"...
both times after a length of time, the HG let go with really cool results...
Same happened to me. 30,000 km on a rebuild and when I climbed in for a simple repair noticed things that dragged me deeper and deeper until I ended up replacing the shortblock. At least I know where I sit now
Ideally if I was just getting into the game, I would buy the cleanest shell I could find. Standard and Targa. (no tranny or engine... diff would be necessary, but have to be LSD (from turbo car).
That's how I would start if I was at day 1 with what I know now. From there it would be a 5 year...
Yep I believe you hit it correctly. Makes me feel bad for NA Supra owners... such a huge difference in the drive when your boost falls off like this.. lol.
Yeah pretty sure I have a boost leak now.. my max boost has dropped to 5.1 psi. First time in 5 years that my car has stalled while turning a corner at low idle. Done it 3 times... lol. Cant wait until Wednesday to get the car back up. Amazing how a boost leak can kill performance.. my car feels...
If your running with the AFM the air coming in is monitored. Without the blowoff valve recirculating the air, it vents to atmosphere so the ecu won't know there is less air than what it metered so you will run even richer. Just not proper if your still running the AFM as I understand it.
I think if you have the capability of rebending the pipe mine would have worked, but it may be that they just aren't careful on their bend specs. If I were to do it again, I would still use this intercooler kit, but I would say from the get-go that the pipe would be custom from the intake to the...
The money is a bit excessive, mainly because I have done none of the work myself.
But when sppread out over 5-10 years it won't be bad plus I would rather have my beast than a newer one. Plus the insurance is under 10 bucks a month...which helps ease the blow. I just remind myself that people...
Just thought I would throw this up. The Driftmotion intercooler (being a CXRacing product I believe) is simply a non-supported distributed item from DM. (for the 7MGTE)
My only real complaint (other than absolutely no directions/suggestions for install) was that the 300 pipe replacement is...
I wouldn't say defective as such. Its just wonky at startup (cold engine/sensor still?) and after sitting a bit after a good drive.
I'm not sure how well I can trust its outer range readings, because they aren't consistant day to day. However... at cruise its always bouncing between 14.3 and...
No, that is what i thought, my explanation was confused.. not me.. lol.
Is there a benefit from moving away from this and am I correct that the 2jz doesn't?
Okay, wondering if anyone knows about this...
researching some more for the added monitors I will want when I go stand alone and I never knew this about our 7M's. Apparently we are double sparked so we get an ignition spark on one piston and an exhaust spark on the mating piston on its exhaust...
I took my car to RCTS here in Calgary simply because I have had too many bad experiences with other shops. (or.. in other words... no good experiences with ANY shops)
After spending untold thousands on idiotic work (over a 10 year period), I really dont care what they charge me... its done...
