Would anyone else be interested in a auto-x/track (roadcourse) forum in this section? I know a few folks used to do this but not sure if they still do.
This is the only section I visit at the brand X site so I thought maybe we could use one here.
Looks like you're having fun out there Lanky, I hope I can get to an event up there this year to run with you.
The body roll isn't too bad, I've seen a passat at an event that I really thought might roll over. You'll be amazed how well the mk3 responds to swaybars, I'd bet the mk2 does the...
I'm interested if the ends won't have a wire tacked in place to provent the couplers from coming loose. It's a good idea to do this, but prevents a good seal on the Cooleze pipe. Will the ends be plan or just have a bead to accomplish this? If so, how do I get put on the list?

Same question on the front. I need to replace it for tech at Nasa events (doesn't feel like much play at all but I'm not the one thats says pass/fail to go on the course) can the fronts be purchased or only with the upper arm?
I just did the poly bushings in the fall and the B/J felt ok, but...
Too long? I'm curious why you say this as a longer car has less tendency to come around where as a shorter wheel base can bring the rear around much easier.
Keep in mind to stay in stock class you'll have to run stock boost (as in stock boost control, not the stock amount of pressure which...
True Jeff, but by adding traction when cornering you can brake later into the turns (or so I've read, I'm not good enough to keep everything at the edge yet)
To yall talking about straightline traction, you want to maximize acceleration through and out of a turn, not just in a straights.
Evidently the JIC upper arms can be adjusted from very little additional camber to much more so this may be the option I'll have to use. I can set everything within stock specs with the lower stance (Eibach springs/tokico) but I was looking for more aggresive camber for auto-x use. I've got -1...
Does anyone know if there are camber plates available for the mk3? I realize the JIC arms are available but it seems they are race only spec (as in far too much neg. camber to be used on the road. I am only able to get -1 deg. on the front settings and looking for 2-3 deg.
Thanks,
Brian W
I'm looking for opinions on various seats and whether or they fit the mk3 comfortably. Has anyone used the Corbeau FX4? It isn't the lightest fixed seat but is SFI rated and more affordable than Sparco offerings. I'm also looking at the Sparco EVO2 and a few adjustable models. How uncomfortable...
Wow, 3 sets of pads that fast? This is still the original set of rotors that were on the car when I bought it in 96' and 100k+ miles ago. I don't expect them to last as long doing auto-x now but 3-4 races is crazy. Was this used in endurance racing or standard ~60 min. events.
I've read some reviews but really without a similar vehicle they aren't much good. I was curious if others have used these and whether you feel they're worth the cost? Was braking during a course more consistent? I'd love a BBK but can't afford it with other necessary upgrades I'm finishing, I...
I've haven't looked into fuel tuning for a while but need to. I remember hearing that the SAFC and similar controllers are eventually overridden by TCCS. Will the same occur with a unit like this or does it compensate for that learning? Do yall have to reset the ecu frequently to keep the...
Truck diff. huh? I've talked to you about this before. Please keep us updated as it progresses, I could always use the excuse that the Tacoma diff. is haveing troubles and I need to find another to 'replace' it.

I just put some of these in a couple weeks back after not liking the colder Ngk coppers. I noticed the insulator was removable (threaded). Did you make sure you tightened all the insulators before installing them, some of mine were loose in the packages.
I'm thinking about switching to the...
Which torsen was that Adam? I'm hoping it wasn't one of the several aftermarket options for the mk3? I thought they'd be tougher than the clutch type. I had placed this on the "long term to do list" maybe they aren't as tough as I thought.

I have seen ARP offer replacement wheel studs for various vehicles. Has anyone found a set to replace the stock studs for the mk3? I was thinking that with the cycles (mileage and years if torque/retorques) on the current studs it may not be a bad idea to consider replacing them. Since I like to...
Price doesn't seem far off, the other ones available were $250 at one point. I emailed the company to try and find out about the endlinks. I used to have the ST part list a few years back but a hard drive crash lost it before I ordered the parts.

Has anyone dealt with these parts before?

They offer some traction arms, toe links and end links. There are no pics of the end links or toe links but I was wondering if anyone else has tried them?
Thanks,
Brian W
I dont understand the need to regrease these bushings, should they not turn/slide within the arms? I was thinking they only need to flex, why would the grease be escaping if they stay in place? Also, would drilling into the bushing to install a fitting make the bushing weaker (more likely to...
