I noticed tonight that the vac. port on my SSQV was loose. I went to remove the clamp for the vac. line and the port pulled out of the BOV housing. Has this happened to anyone else? It appears it just fits tightly and has some sort of sealer to prevent air leaks. Just wanted to see if this...
I wouldn't remove the filler neck unless you plan to use a new gasket, it's likely become brittle by now.
I wonder if there is enough slack to lower the tank and then unbolt the fuel pump bracket assembly? You wouldn't have to mess with seized lines then and could just pull the tank away. I...
Looks like a nice option Defiant. Wouldn't be PnP and I guess we'd have to swap for a GM knock sensor (wonder if you could calibrate to use the stock ones) Is the AEM 16x16 or does it have a higher resolution?
It does look like this has most of the features you'd need and then some.

Didn't know you had upgraded, is this why you didn't make it to the auto-x last week? I hope to use the AEM eventually but can't afford it with other stuff needing to be finished. I'd bet there's a place in Northern Va that knows what they're doing with MkIVs and the AEM.

I'm looking for opinions of those that have used these bores. Block is a virgin and I bought .040 JE's because I wanted the slight increase in displacement, thinking it might help low end TQ. What are you're opinions, should I go with .020 and have that much of a stronger block? I'm planning for...
I haven't seen bad seals on a turbo cause smoke during acceleration. My current turbo showed a bad seal after the first week. It has never smoked under acceleration, only under high vacuum, low rpms on deccel. Maybe it is the rings as mentioned. Have you done a compression test?
Brian W
I think thats a little backwards. Geners\ally valve seals will cause smoke at startup (bluish cloud) This is due to oil sitting against the valve seals while the engine is not running and once started the worn seals allow oil to sneak by.
A bad turbo seal will cause oil to be burned during...
You could always do a print screen of a portion of a log. Has anyone messed with the excel export of data? I haven't gotten a solid data set yet.
I am getting quite a bit of electrical interference causing my lap top to act up at times.
Yesterday rpm readings where right on but I was...
Not if rpms and boost is changing, the ecu will be adding based on the open loop map. It should stay on the rich side (preferably a ratio of less than 11.5:1 but it shouldn't stay steady.
I'll check my TPS to see if it's reading incorrectly. I'm seeing no more than 60% or so and have had some WOT missing lately, I think the rheostat could be bad in my TPS.
I did verify my connections with that diagram after installation (wire color/plug location varies on 87-88 harness) I don't know why I'm getting theses readings for rpm off by such a large margin. I was getting a lot of elec. feedback causing the laptop to malfunction at first. I take some more...
Yep, had the N/A style split pipe before the TB and looked a lot like a 7m manifold. I was curious what they're reasoning was when it seems that a FFI would have been much easier to do.

I'm using the IGf signal and I used the wiring diagram. I'm just wondering why the numbers are off by such a large amount. Is everyone else getting accurate rpm readings?
I believe this was listed as a service bullentin which was mentioned by request (no notice sent out by Toyota) The cold start injector temp switch, which determines at which temp. the cold start injector needs to operate was modified and helped to avoid problem starting due to heat soak.
