I was at 300 rwhp/387 torque with a 57 trim and no tune. Two things help me back... AFR went below 10:1 at 3500 rpm and stock intercooler. Was a wicked pull though. That was at 14 psi
Well, here's a story.
I call the two truck to take the car in for an engine swap. Then I ask my son to throw the tires on the car so I can get it off the stands for a tow. Take it off the stands, flatbed truck comes... 4 days later I have a running 87 Supra.
So Rollus suggests tires and after...
Almost a knock.. more of a thud. Its odd. Best way I could describe it would be if it was a rubber coated steel rod and you were in my engine bay whapping at the inner fender to get out... lol.
It does get louder and more pronounced... when turning one direction...
Should also mention.. the...
It was on stands the whole time and the wheels were off the car. Thought about that. I do have another set of 4 tires.. I will swap them and see what happens. I have never felt this type of thudding in a car before.. lol.. and I am fairly ancient.
Well, got the engine swap done on my 87 Supra just to have the alternator fail. Replaced that and everything seems good.
However, now when I was driving it (first time on the road with it in 2 years and I bought it dead... so no idea about any maintenance on this car) it began making an odd...
Let me explain my comment just so you know I'm not blowing smoke up your arse.... Lol.
I think everyone familiar with you and your car will agree on this... NTORIOUS is one if those cars that lived up to its name. I use your car as a benchmark because it has been the epitome of what most have...
My 87 engine swap was done smoothly until yesterday when the slave did the same thing... Leaked everywhere. New clutch/pressure plate installed with new pilot/release bearing. All together with new salve and can't get it to go into gear... Lol
Gotta love supras
I will wait until I put the photos up, but I have seen a drawing that showed how the acis intake works. I have all the parts, but I think the wrong intake plenum (correct word?) is from the Cressida (put on the wrong one). That ties me into using the alternative.

Got the 7mge from the 90 Cressida swapped into the 87 supra. Runs fine however, I am wondering about a couple things.
First, the Cressida 7m intake and fuel rail were used but it appears that the Cressida 7m injectors are upside down. It works but seemed odd. Also am using the Cressida intake...
My R154 has been like this since I bought it. I've ignored it mostly because it shifts fine other than stiff from 1-2 or 3-2, 2-1. Could be just a bent fork or maybe worn synchros. It's strong except for that. Figured the trany was fine unless I want to go track it for quarter runs... If I did...
Thanks!
My r154 forces my to "double clutch" first to second normally. I could speed shift the w58 but I thought that was an inherent flaw with the r154. It doesn't like fast shifting until second-third. And I don't even bother down shifting from second to first... The forks don't seem to like...
Clutch and flywheel.. My spec 2+ sucks... I get a shudder when downshifting and a howl shifting first and second...
Gonna have to get a different setup. What clutch is that?
