Agreed about PO's being morons.. lol. But.. don't hate it.. it makes for a cheap base for building a good car. :)
I hate that no matter how good my car is, or how much I have done.. there is always one more thing I can do. It never ends.
By the way.. I love my 7M. It has never given me any...
Basically.. any low impedance 550 injector will do (RC 550's are most common.. PL8 is the number). They wont give you any trouble at all, ID injectors are for if your going to be shooting for higher HP later on.. and are a waste on a stock ECU system (not even sure if they wont mega-overfeed on...
You will top 300 HP with a 3" exhaust, Lexus AFM, 550 injector upgrade (without touching the intercooler). The 7M LOVES a 3" exhaust.. its an eye-opener .. lol. The AFM helps with fuel cut (not necessarily eliminating it depending on your setup.
Honestly.. I wouldn't do a thing past 3" exhaust...
Yeah, I found they are find for most people, but if your looking at being finicky... they are older technology on top of older technology. Its why I decided to abandon them. Perfectly fine for most applications.. but I wanted as much control as possible.
Fuel pump is not necessary (I see almost...
I don't think that you can use them because 7m is top feed (at least not with a stock fuel setup, and you wouldn't use the smaller ones obviously. I did a bit of research on the older style 7m injectors and the RC injectors are suited fine for the 7m with a stock ecu. If your going standalone...
I believe USDM TT are 550 side feeds. The NA is 300-330. Saying "stock mkiv" is misleading because it doesn't include year or engine description. I'm not sure what they called a "base" mkiv was back then because I have never researched a mkiv.
My 87 sat in the garage for almost 3 years... got the engine back in, replaced all the hoses, spruced up the valve covers, cleaned everything... did a full front brake job... drove it for a couple weeks...
and then a guy who we can't prove was texting... hits it.. end of story.
... safer in...
My mani is cast (HKS Longrunner), putting a blanket in the turbo, didn't know if I should wrap the DP. It's stainless and wastegate vents to atmosphere. Was also debating reintegrating the wastegate, but am curious what it sounds like... Lol
Been debating heat wrapping my DP. Not sure how much heat the SP6265 will add seeing as I won't be rally driving or anything fun like that. Huge difference in engine bay temp by wrapping the DP?
no, we have 10% ethanol at some stations, but I have none in my gas at all. I know on my Tundra (2uz) I cant run more than 15% ethanol, I just avoid it.. lol. (2000 Tundra)
I was pulling about 22-25 mpg in town with the 87 NA before it got toasted. It was using the Cressida intake though which doesn't hold the torque to the higher RPMs like the Supra Y intake does. Don't know if that made a difference or just because the motor was freshened with new seals and...
What downpipe, what turbo? Boost controller?
Full 3" exhaust now? Details...
On a normal functioning 7mgte with a 3" exhaust I can't see hitting fuel cut at 6-7 psi. Of course I never ran that way without the lexus AFM and upgraded turbo and 550's.. I still hit fuel cut though. But that was at...
This has always been my biggest fear. Pour my soul into the heartless beast and watch her spit it out. Is why my next stage is taking so damn long... Lol
Hope this doesn't stop you. Hard to see it happening because I know what a pain in the ass it is to figure out who's at fault and how to get...
800.00 actually, they were really good about it.
Very happy so far with the insurance company, have been treated how you would expect to be treated, so far.
I will say this, to date, every Supra I have touched has returned more than I have put into it, except the one I'm keeping... And that...
well.. my totaled 87 NA just came out at 8450.00 for the write off. I have to get my 88 re-appraised now that I have enough money under the hood to feed a small nation...
The fact these cars are getting so rare is just an added bonus :) (or is it?)
Last time I saw a rad hose burst like that was due to the head gasket letting go and grossly over pressurizing the cooling system. Hope yours was just a flawed hose. you would know though if that was an issue... :)
Don't know if anyone produces those anymore. There is a custom wheel place that makes mk2 wheels to spec (your call on size/offset/depth, but I think they run at around 3000+ per set of 4.
I might be a bit off in my statement... Can't recall but pretty sure these are the ones...
