Hardtop is for someone who wants a lighter MKIII & also for some one who wants the hardest to find MKIV a 1995 is verry hard to find one if you can buy it.
Targa is more cosmetic leaks heavier
The best or the compromise is 1990+ with slidding moon roof buy that one you get the best of...
I noticed on a relatively new LSD ~80,000 miles on it takes around 80-90lbs of force when using two wrenches to spin each axle it own opposite direction. If its clunking try the ford heavy diff fluid if it still does clunk after new fluid try check a auto yard or one they are common out here for...
I am totaly happy for you.
Happy 1JZing to you also!
Which diff are you running? if you have the 4.3lsd in with the stock 1jz set up it is a complete blast to drive the car.
It looks like you will need the fan shroud soon though keep an eye on yor temps.
lol
Yea you set the ECU for rising pulse then fire on trailing edge the pulse does dip negitive but it fires on the trail of the rise of the pulse
(------^v-------signal) so your ecu will fire between ^v in the middle of that pulse.
You configure your ECU for 24 teeth ( not missing...
100% correct each time the light comes on it because it gets a ground from the ecu.
Remember the computer on our engines is based on the simple 0vdc/5vdc 1/0 logic the 12vdc input gets re-biased to 5vdc all the digital inputs and outputs are 0-5vdc range including map signal & tps it...
Removing over 50% of the reciprocating mass pulling on the front of a crank and under driving the pully system will not damage a JZ engine especialy the 1JZ "Factors such as shorter stroke" come into play with the 1JZ the piston travels at a much slower rate and haves virtualy no imbalance...
I used unorthodox racing under drive light weight pullys, light weight multi disc clutch, light weight 1 piece drive shaft & light weight 14lb 17" WEDS wheels
You will absolutly most definitely notice 100% of a change I think they say each # you remove from your drivetrain is like...
I heard you could stagger the cams to adjust your spool time and power band im not their yet but would be interested if staggering the cams does help.
I heard you loose compression when the valves overlap so you kind of loose boost but at top end your car doesnt peter off and runs like a bat...
I dont know if mine is the same but through the bottom of the engine there is a whole facing down next to the crank where there is a set screw that needs a hex allen wrench.
You torque it down until the belt is firm and that should be it.
The CEL is a LED light in the JZA70 with a resistor in series.
both the 1JZ & the 7M ecu applies a ground or a earth signal to the light both get 12 volts but the led one haves a resistor in series.
When your ecu detects a fault though it haves a ground output.
I have the MVP top feed with domestic RC 750cc injectors.
top feed is cheaper and side feed doesnt flow for crap in the oem rail even when feeding from both sides its verry restrictive. you will see what i mean when you compair the two sets of rails and injectors.
You might have the right...
Here is your answer as short and direct to put it you have
2 cam angle sensors
1 crank angle sensor
The 2 Cam angle sensors are 180° out from each other.
Cam angle sensor 1 is the ecu input for fire timing.
Cam angle sensor 2 is the input for engine RPMS
However Cam angle sensor...
Actualy the JZA70 some models do have HOT CAT warning lights kind of like a EGT sensor at the cat.
BHG/bird has gone/low coolant level/blown head gasket are all about the correct answer if you find yourself adding more & more water blown head gasket could be the reason!
Besides all the...
If you switch over to a MAP standalone you dont have to worry about dumping to atmosphere you can even drive your car with your turbo plumbing disconnected.
MAF & OBDII sucks for tunning add in vvti vvtli things get way more complexe
A simple stinger standalone should be the way to go I...
The JZA70/1JZGTE came with a 4.10 torsen most all of them that I know of especially with the R154
The MA70 7MGTE turbo models came with 3.7 after 89 3.9 before 89 7MGE models came all with 4.3 some came with LSD if you ordered it or if it was the sport package TEMS headlight cleaners etc...
If your going to spend money to upgrade a clutch do it right.
Dont get a high spring force pressure plate (crank walk).
3-4 pucks clutch disc suck for daily chatter your teeth out.
6 puck sprung is maybe managable.
Best option is stock flywheel or Tilton or OS giken the come with light...
Heavier flywheels are only better for rock crawlers for inerita change resistance harder to stall and obsticals dont affect engine RPMS.
Getting to light or weak of a flywheel may explode.
