you know.. I have heard that story many times.. lol. But unless you have the head off and everything is good (rare event?), you have more than just a headgasket to do about 90% of the time. It depends if you want to do it right or do it quick.
I fell for that quick fix and easy BPU setup early...
What newbie said... unless you have already correct the mess the previous owners have left you with, using a MK3 for a DD is not a good idea.
If you run with a bad head gasket (BHG) your going to have the exhaust gases mixing with the coolant forming a bit of corrosion on your block surface...
Ive been running this over in my head... what exactly do you mean... "Sprayed some starter fluid"...
What fluid and where are you spraying it?
Mind throwing up some pictures of your engine bay? Generally speaking, if it runs (idles) to warm up without misfiring, etc.. and the timing is set...
Sounds like worn brushes.. simple fix. Supra's generally idle at 600 RPM (at least in my experience). Also, what are you running for a stereo? Big Amp & sub?
I just did a 90 Cressida 7MGE into my 87 Supra last year. Only differences were the intake setup and oil pan/sump. Period. Identical otherwise.
(the oil pan and oil sump are setup differently from Supra to Cressida... you can use the Cressida intake, but the Supra had the "y" pipe setup.)
If...
well, I will probably have these on in about 2 weeks so will take photos of the fitment and show it. (will do another set of photos with the 18x10 +38 Works as well to show the difference although the rubber is wider on the works)
Okay.. scratch that.. just sold the wheels.. lol. More money...
The tires are already on the rims and aren't really stretched. They don't stick out quite as well as my 255's on my Work Wheels. Have to decide if I'm going to sell these wheels or keep them.. Not a huge fan of the 245's up front... but without actually driving it with them on, that's just going...
Okie dokie.. question (was gonna add photos, but the iphone shots are crap and I cant get my computer to read the wife's camera's SSD card yet.. lol).
I have a set of 4 XXR 521 - 18" x 10" gunmetal with +25 Offset.
The rubber is 245/45R18 on all 4 wheels.
Just looking at the specs (car isn't...
Heya Scott.. good to see your still around.. lol. Are you running a 6266 on that 1j still?
I believe there was a post regarding the tire portion (I think that's all it discussed though). Will see if I can find the thread and link it here (just posting so I can find the thread again)...
It's the only forum you need, but that's thanks to a lot of the super members that actually understand the car... Lol.
If you have a Supra you need to be here.
Also, besides temp you have to consider altitude. The fuel pump isn't what you need, its the Lexus AFM and 550's that you need. the 550's feed better and the AFM fools the ECU into thinking everything is running as per normal specs. A boost controller will allow you to play with your boost...
