The first post in my thread has comparison pics of the late model 7m vs 5m vs 2jz. It would not be possible to add oil squirters to the 5m block.

The low 5mge hp output is partially because of the lower 8.8:1 compression on the 5mge, if it had the same 9.2:1 compression ratio as the 7mge it would probably be closer in power output.

Check this out: Bigaaron's 5M crank in a 7M thread 5m block has no oil squirters, only one knock sensor hole, and the late model 7m block is reinforced to be stronger then the 5m block.

AutoZone has front and rear main seals, upper and lower intake gasket, exhaust manifold gasket, valve cover gasket, water pump gasket, front timing cover gasket, thermostat gasket... Some you have to buy in a set of 2 or 3 gaskets but I don't think any of them are over $10.

My little 1jz driver would probably be flattered if she made the cut.
