That wouldn't effect anything. Unless he has the ecu setup for one and the other is actually scaled wrong (but that wouldn't be the boost fall off problem). The JZ sensors are pretty weak though (only like 2.3 bar) and should swap out for a 3 bar or the like.
Awesome! On a AEM equipped vehicle you could use User Fuel trim to adjust the fuel based on the output, but not sure if theres a way to adjust the timing with it though. Will have to look into it (want to run e85 on my celica when its available in the area).
how do you have the map setup? Boost comp gives a LOT of resolution in low throttle/rpm. I can adjust my 85lbs injectors .1 afr at a time at idle on my 3s.
Just have to learn to work the software to get it to do want you want.
as for the OP, understanding how the engine works and how the...
Im going to say at 17 psi the ecu detected knock and retarded timing. This is causing your over fueling issues you were talking about in 4th gear. I bet if you got a AFPR and turned down the fuel pressure and pulled less fuel out with the SAFC you'd pick up more power (from timing being...
If you can jump power to the system (through check connector) then its not the ECU grounds (intake manifold). I cant find anything on the check connector (wiring diagrams) to see where the Diag connector gets continuous power from (didn't know it had it to be honest) though.
But if that...
ECU is powered by the engine bay wiring harness (through the fuse box connector) so it will not be the interior wiring. Have you checked the engine grounds (on the intake manifold) to make sure they're good? Also check the ground on the left fender under the fusebox.
Grab a volt meter and...
Is the valve opening when you apply the vacuum to it? if so, the heater core is probably clogged. My old 87 had that problem. I had to flush it out by applying pressure (using a hose) back and forth on both sides, finally broke free and cleaned it out. You will eventually need a new heater core...
