With the right turbo you can hit 400whp at about 14psi or less. Do you have a compressor map for that Precision 67mm turbo you are looking at? If you do, post it and we'll check it out.

Sounds like the timing is ok then, there really isn't any adjustment for it on a 1jz, unless you use the cam gears.

Yes, the best way to do it is to upgrade the stock relay to a Bosch 30 amp, and run a heavier gauge wire from the relay back to the pump. Then you have a little higher voltage when you actually need it, when the engine is under boost.

1jz probably makes a little more then 320 hp at the crank. 280 wheel hp is average for a 1jz.

Hey Jay, another thing to check is the timing. You could be a tooth off on the timing belt since the head was off the car. Pull the cam pulley cover off and put the timing light on the pulleys and see it they both line up. Same thing with the timing marks on the crank pulley. First, make sure...

I'm not sure, but the dual voltage would not be the cause. You're probably right about the constant 12v being one possible cause of a shortened pump lifespan.

Now that I think about it, it would be very easy to make it work like stock with a standalone. You could just have one of the aux outputs switch the pump relay based on boost pressure. I guess with 550cc injectors and a Aeromotive afpr it's not that big of a deal. :dunno:
