The BAC mounts. But I wasn't making fun of BIC, I like his stuff and he has sold many items to happy SM customers. We have used his mounts before several times and also the ceramic coated ddp's are really great.
This job takes a few hours and you need a welder, holesaw, grinder, paint...
I had several sets of them and there was plenty in stock. As soon as I put them up on the website I got several orders so I called to order 20 sets. Back ordered for a month because I guess they all take a month off over there for Chinese New Year!
Thanks guys!
I don't want this to sound like we have any problem with Mark at all. He is paying to get everything done, and from day one he has been very considerate and offered to pay for anything extra that was needed. I'm happy to be able to do the project and it will come out nice. We...
Mark's turbo was machined incorrectly on the compressor housing. There was too much play side to side and it did not sit flat on the back plate, but there was not enough material left to machine it down to fix the problem. So rather then wait a week to ship it back and get it exchanged...
57 trim would spool faster, but how much horsepower do you want to make? t3/t4 60-1 would probably be able to get into the 450whp range, but I don't think much more then that. :dunno:
I have my hands full as it is, and my kit works just fine. If you are talking about the big steel inserts, they require too big of a hole to be drilled, there is not a lot of meat around the studs holes in some places.
He covered most of it, but the most important thing is to drill the holes straight, make sure to look from several angles when you drill. If you drill the holes crooked, the studs will be crooked. Next time I install a set I'll make a little video with how to do it.
I think we might try a 57 trim before a 60-1. :biglaugh:
I know you mean T4 60-1 but I thought you might get a laugh out of this. A 60-1 should be a good choice for a 1jz.
I had them, spring rate was very low, pretty much for drag racing only. One of mine needed to be rebuilt at only 6k miles, it lost nitrogen pressure and started to leak oil badly. HKS doesn't offer any parts and they can only be serviced in-house at HKS for around $300 each. Hopefully you have...
