Not really a way to test. If it smokes then they're bad. Its pretty common on the JZ engines.
For the compression test, make sure the engine is at operating temp, hold the throttle open and crank so you get 5 revs out of the cyl you're testing.
For 3 cranks it sounds ok, try for 5-6 and see what the numbers are.
Most likely its just valve seals. Under high vacuum (decel) itll pull more oil through the valve seals more then normal. Is there any slight smoke at startup after the car sits for a while?
What setup do you have?
pinking? When WOT? It sorta sounds like you might have some detonation. That'd probably be related to your MPGs as something isn't right in the setup causing it.
My old 2jzgte swapped car got 22mpg around town. Never took it on a road trip to know highway though. I...
Thats a bit extreme. On all of my cars I ran them ~ 8-10k miles (2 oil changes for me). Never had any issues with them breaking up at that mileage. This was with a ~450whp 1j and a 400whp 2j. I did run a .022-.025 gap though but thats more of the AEM in wastefire without a DLi then anything.
yea, gt spec was my first guess, but would be ss and stamped apexi as well.
This will flow better then your current exhaust. Of course itll also be louder.
Yea the 35r is a PITA to install all the fittings/housing bolts etc. We installed a straight -6 adapter for the waterlines and tightening the -6 line on was retarded.. like 5* of movement we could do with the wrench.
Its not the pedal. If you're pushing it and it feels like a brick wall is because its catching on something and not allowing the slave to work. Double check the push/pull converter.
