Nah...I figured that was it. :)
My wife has renamed my Supra....Christine:biglaugh:
She says it only plays oldies on the radio now... I don't think it even has any speakers in it, the back one's are out and the fronts I thought were blown.:)
Yes the cross member comes off and it is doable. PITA though, I look at it as if you have to disconnect everything else on the motor to pull it, it would take more time.
Common failure. My wife was driving it and she thinks the car is posessed and hates her :)
I could have used that method of torqueing the bolt, I don't really remember.
I will try a strap wrench this time.
Good question, I checked that first and it's spins freely, I can turn it by hand. I think I'm going to put a drill on it and make sure I have oil pressure though.
Anybody had this happen before???
The gear seems to have shattered. Nothing else looks to be damaged, and can't see anything else in the case that could have wedged into the gear to make it let loose like this.
Any ideas??
Where is the clicking coming from?
And no the belt isn't suppose to wobble. You need to check the tension on the belt and make sure the tensioner is torqued to the right amount.
Also while you are at it, check to make sure all the timing marks on your cam gears, crank pully, rotor...
No that's not all there is, there are threads that tell you exactly what you need to do. A turbo ECU would help also :) Not to mention the wiring harness.

That's how you check the timing. And yes it and the TPS adjustment should be done according to the TSRM.
