I do... I need alittle down low to move my 4000lbs lead-sled.
Jay.. Not a bad idea buddy. I'll be watching closely to see if I'm encouraged to take the plunge.
I say it over and over again..... SAFC.... I am pushing 468rwhp with it & room to grow If I so choose(which I am iching already). AEM? cuz it puts $$ in their pockets. I make more power with my stock ecu & an SAFC 2 then most poeple make with their standalone....NUFF Said!
An upgraded ecu or a standalone will up your rev limit, also an emanage Ulitimate.
The rule of thumbs is 8k. Depending on the conditions of your engine you will experience valve float after 8k rpm....Not a good thing. A stock 1j with stock cams can rev to 8k. You don't need cams to get there...
One step at a time......My valve seal aren't the greatest. If the car idles for a bit. When I rev just a tad a small amount of white smoke come out. Not alot, but I am hesitant to go 5w just yet.
I agree with a 10w30. I'v been doing tons of research and even read, not too long ago, a long write up from a chemist that retired from Shell. His life he spent it developing engine oil for Gas and diesel engine. He explained and debunked theories uses today of the use of oils.
After spending...
Ali, I got me tires already.... Dunlops up front and I went with P-Zero Rosso... 285/35/19. More meat than before for more grip. So I got me 1st and 2nd gear back. Did you get your car aligned yet? I need to so I don't go through this crap again....
When we were tunning my car, we spent almost 30min tunning the low. WOT took almost nothing. My gas mileage did get better then when I was with stock twins.
I come on boost very quick though, so to have some boost on every gear and getting good MPG is "F"in' awesome.
No or at least in my case is nope. I am at 7200 which is the same as the jza70(supra). Sometimes my SAFC 2 will read 7800. I guess that when it bounces of the rev limit. The ecu stops the revs but the engine has inertia
so the safc will read much higher.
Rakkasan timing is Implied when I mentioned tuning, however on my setup, I have stock timing.
Viper, I agree. I like my rev limiter.... I am trigger happy, i'll rev this puppy til 15k if I could.
NOT TRUE.... 1j does not die after 6500.....You can rev a stock 1j to 8000 and power will not die. Power dies becuase of the turbo and tuning you are using. In theory, yes stock cams might do that. But we've done it time and time again, where by using a right fitted turbo powerband hold strong...
Yep, I tuned it at 11psi low boost & 23 psi high. Since I left the dyno it's been oh high boost. Even while getting some groceries it's on high boost....LOL.
The Safc runs rich when you connect the Fuel Cut before the SAFC. Sometimes it can be connected and the unit is just bad, which was the...
