    Late block with minimal core shift and a sonic check is the only way to be sure on the max bore, water jacket errosion plays a part as well. My brand new 92 block had horrible core shift compared to my original 86.5, looked like they'd just given up trying at the foundry by that stage.. :(

    Thanks for that! The 400's I'm currently using beat it slighty flow wise at 58psi but draw quite a bit more current to do so!

    Underbucket will still have a thin shim on top so yes it's possible, the cam once over xx size tries to wipe the shim off the top of the bucket, that + any valve bounce = bye bye shim and :(

    4 for up 4 for down, the AirRide system comes with an 8 valve block and it's ecu will level the car no matter what load is in it on any of the 4 corners.. All depends on what you want, if you need something with all the intelligent OEM features or are happy with a dumb system like Planemos...

    As Albert mentioned lighter and no chance of spitting a shim, I had my limiter set to 8300 and it saw it every single time I drove it :D Nothing quite sounds like a 7M above 8000 it's a very distinctive noise!

    I just bought their complete kit, one thing I did do was block one exhaust port on the Valve block then run a line inside the chassis rail from the other to slow and muffle it when you drop the car.     Might be an issue running the 340 in this J, carefully check the input splines and TC dimensions. SC's are an amazing long distance cruiser/GT car, done a few interstate trips in my Bud's car!

    Usually by this stage it's just a couple of thou lapped by hand, I machine cut everything to as close to identical as possible then Lap or Tip to get the exact clearences required. The major PITA with shimless is non adjustable, as the engine wears the valves will sink and close down the lash...
