If you don't want that turbo I'll take it as a finders fee, lol. Mine's pretty jacked up.
I just got back. Looked like it was in good condition, no obvious damage. There was no milkshake on the dipstick and the turbo had about 1mm of shaft play. They wanted $450 for it.
I run a fidanza as well. The engine revs faster and is more responsive but it's much pickier about how I shift. Combined with an aluminum shaft stop and go traffic can be a challenge sometimes.
I thought the idea behind a heavy flywheel was to give the rotating assembly enough momentum to...
Drove it to work today and had the exhaust repaired. Sounds nice, drives nice. Quite a bit peppier than I was expecting! I'm replacing a fender so no pics yet.
'82-'86. TRD parts do turn up in junkyards it's just very rare. My local pick-a-part just got a complete 84 300ZX Anniversary Edition with only 85,000 miles on it. Just because it's rare doesn't mean some moron won't junk it.
Check your grounds as well. Is the Number 1 cylinder the only one not getting spark? If the timing is off the engine will run rough but it will still spark so you have an electrical problem somewhere.
My '82 had two complete owners manuals in good condition hidden in the spare tire well.
'87 had assorted change, couple bucks worth of arcade tokens, and business cards inside the door. Not sure how they got in there....
My Z had two major bills and a picture of the previous owner hidden...
Several have made their own but few make them for hire. I think TekDeus has an amazing car. You could try contacting Shine Auto. If you generate enough interest they could make something as a group buy.
He doesn't have the spacer in the ECU so that is not a Reg Reimer computer. As it (unclearly) says on the ECU that the original rev limit was 6250 and the new one is 7200 this is a crystal mod computer. I tried contacting that guy years ago, refuses to answer emails or messages of any kind.
Spun bearing. Previous owner had blown the headgasket several times in the years he owned it and never did anything to the bottom end. When I bought the car there was a quart of oil sitting in the engine compartment so I knew it was coming.
Cutting springs is a distasteful practice that can, occasionally, yield good results. Usually it ends in noticeable ricer bounce and crappy handling. Heating springs is a big no-no.
