sorry but I've seen dyno charts showing ~30whp gain over a standard 3" DP... gain comes from elimination of turbulence. The turbulence was a factor taken into consideration when the engineers designed the turbo/wastegate as the wastegate clearly creates turbulence, restricting flow which helps...
luckily I think all the bodywork is going to end up being about $600 -actual cost of paint. Just so happens I managed to run into/ask the right person about having the work done.
TBH I want to do the work myself but I don't have a place or tools to work on it -_-
I've already got...
So my assumption is at least somewhat correct? I knew 5th was OD (same way 4th would be OD if you only have 4 gears) but I've never been told not to push the engine in that gear.
Still makes me curious though... since a 6 speed essentially has 2 OD gears... I know a getrag 5th gear has got...
so I did take some more pics... nothing special, as something is wrong w/ the rear end. I was supposed to get it up on a lift last week, but I guess my buddy has been too busy w/ other work.... anyhow you can see the work I've got cut out. (rust, dent, giant key mark down the side, clear...
yeah, I thought I'd kick the hornet's nest some more ;)
You really expect me to not be fine being who I am, what choice do I have? Either I can be all twisted up in a knot over being a social outcast, or I can get the fuck over it. I'm going with option B.
Way I see it... most people are...
yeah... I always got better MPG without cruise... and mine actually went out almost immediately after buying my current 89 on it's return trip.... i think the switch in my wheel is effed
there's no denying it is... but in what way? if it were broken in a way that rendered me a deadly maniac, I'd be a goner by now 100x over
Given the circumstances I did my best (and successfully so) to not involve anyone. I hit the road @ approximately 3:45 in the morning. By my perception...
so, you guys have never gone out with a group w/ radios, and monitor a section of what may as well be an abandoned section of road? I guess you could have your stray 6 year old that would come running out of the wilderness towards ear-blistering cars, intent of self-destruction.... but I've...
well, you live and you learn (at least that should be the case) the mkiii is definitely a tank though... that's for sure
yeah... uhm... I'm guessing you misunderstood what I was talking about? I'm confused.... I knew exactly what you were on about
all in all... the supra was built...
seems like I always hear people get ~29 mpg on the turbo 7m's... my 89 got 30mpg (on the dot, I did a long road trip, ran the numbers and it was EXACTLY 30mpg) we'll see what the one I'm working on now will get....
personally I prefer the OE 89+ 3 piece... although if I had a 87-88 I would...
yeah I had a overheating issue in a 7m once.... turns out it wasn't the first time.... in the end I did everything to make sure the cooling sys. was up to spec, but the bottom end was eating it's-self. you could tell when the engine was torn down because the crank was all sortsa crazy colors...
I need to get out and take some pics of this car, but it's depressing really... the clearcoat is going REALLY bad, and I'm getting ready to have some repairs/prep work done for a new paint job (think I will re-spray gunmetal, paint trim too for the 91+ look)
just for reference... this pic...
