yeah there is a top bolt that can be a serious PITA... I was using so many extensions I was wrenching from where the rear diff. is
also very hard, if not impossible to see
you gotta think though... the type of driving they do is totally incomprehensible to me... I mean those machines are so extreme they make everything else look silly by comparison... so, I think driving at limits far past what any street car could ever meet would easily account for the wrecks...
a set of 93-97 polished rims were as follows:
fronts: 24.75lbs
rears: 26.55lbsthe 98 polished rims are a bit lighter without the ridges in the centers
fronts: 23.6lbs
rears: 25.4lbsthese are exact weights taken from a mailing center, not a home scale.
Toyota Supra 86.5-89 Cast 16x7 23.0 lbs...
lol, that's hilarious. I've never even gotten a speeding ticket in any of my supras (or any ticket for that matter).... although admittedly, I did blow past a trooper one night doing twice the speed limit WOT in a car that was loud enough to be heard for miles. I slowed to the speed limit...
yeah those have got to be some of (if not the) lightest OE wheels out there... even aftermarket, I haven't really seen anything that light... just keep in mind, you won't be able to put that much rubber on em, so if you just want a mild amount of power for going in a straight line on slicks...
so I'm still curious about this... I thought someone else would've chimed in... but is OD considered too stressful because the engine is making max output without increasing it's rotational speed fast enough? IDK trying to figure where you're coming from w/ that statement
hey, you hit the nail on the head
I never claimed some of what I've done wasn't stupid... and I'll never claim not to do anything stupid in the future (only try not to)
So far though, I've had an extremely high success rate of avoiding danger, and keeping others out of danger as well...
lol.... do a compression test, then get back with us.... sounds like you're leaking exhaust gasses into your coolant... that will trap air in your heater core making it not really want to work.....
nope, we have none... I've hit 165mph 3 times... I've hit 140 countless times (at least 100 times)
I'll say though, the car I have right now... blew the harmonic balancer somehow when the previous owner hit 165 with it
:icon_roll each time you post, you show more and more immaturity... even more than that, your willingness to jump to conclusions
the vehicle never even tried to stop and look for traffic, it simply pulled the fuck out, as if the left hand turn was part of a straight road
:bsflag: had they...
it was my understanding that 6th was too long to even use, anyhow, I doubt there are many people that don't boost in 5th gear. If it was so stressful you think they would've equipped a 120mph speed limiter on our cars
a lot of truth in here, I'll get back on the topic when I have a bit more time, but yes, failed components, I've seen, it's not pretty, and everyone I've seen it happen to has been pretty lucky. my buddy had a tie rod or something give way on his '98 supra with ~1500hp, fortunately he was not...
his 5th is probably about as short as a lot of guy's 4th gears on here... the only possible issue I can think of is creep... in that case you need to work on your WG setup
sorry you can't have his current wing, just the center piece ;)
I've always liked that wing, it's a trust piece, I think, but I wouldn't be able to put it on a car unless I had 2 others without it... it's just SO HUGE
I found one back in '07, but didn't have the money... it was pretty...
