try and find a clean shell... preferably a turbo 5 speed... personally I would get a 7mgte, but that's just me... they're usually pretty dang cheap, can be a PITA if they were abused/poorly maintained (like anything else) but all in all, they're pretty much rock solid as long as you have...
if they want people to actually buy them.... you know... it would be ideal to make it at least somewhat comparable to other high-end imports.... like I said, you never know... till you do
my turbo would only creep terribly in 5th gear... which apparently you're not supposed to even run full-out in 5th (overdrive gear)
4th gear creep would be 14 psi... I had mine tuned to run @ 12 psi, just because I was on stock IC, mainly
well, isn't that just CUTE!?!?! lol, sry I found it hilarious how dinky that turbo kit looks... I have no doubt it will do the trick, I'm just easily amused, and sleep deprived ATM
definitely will be keeping tabs on your build though.... quite intriguing :naughty:
I want a black mk3 soooo bad, but damnit all to hell I know it'll be scratched one way or another and I'll be pissed as all hell... I'm planning on going gunmetal with my burgundy 89... not gonna spill the beans ont he exact paint code, but I will say i was going to paint my other last supra...
so why is it that I see 700hp 1jzs making less torque than a 400 hp 7m? and to be clear... power on the 7m hits HARD @ 3,500rpm smack in the middle of the range (of course changing your cams/tune will directly affect your power-band)
 say WAT!?!?! ahahaha too funny man. I could...
yeah... I used to be on here regularly shooting the shit, but after my car was totaled, well, I already struggle with depression as it is, but that pushed me over the edge. I was able to get another mk3 together, and that had me going for a little while till it was stolen. That really just...
do you want torque or hp? I favor the 7m's mid-range torque with a few mods... just keep in mind the 1jz runs ~10 psi at stock settings w/ the turbos flowing ~304 CFM while the 7m is set at ~7psi from the factory, with the turbo flowing ~260cfm @ 10 psi. also keep in mind that the 7m makes...
depends on what you're looking for... Albert's car is a highway monster for sure.... personally, I like having less power, and a fatter powerband (mid-range, not top end)
for all intensive purposes though power is power (what I'm trying to say is bottom or top end power... where ever it's...
so, if I were to cut a custom 5th gear to max @ 150mph (think stock 7m rev limiter) then it'd be ok?
nice, Albert.... never get tired of seeing/hearing your car
got a point there... also 89+ had a slightly updated wastegate design... the 89 I spoke of was sold early in the year, meaning it was assembled in 88...
on all combined... shoot it's gotta be up near $20k if I had to guess I'd say about 18... I really don't want to think about it though... it's rather depressing since most of that work/money was simply stolen
just go with 3" unless you plan on making over 700hp. that white 87 had 3.5" and as you can see it's on stock suspension... clearance was still an issue.
and no, my buddy fried the motor one day so I had insurance taken off until it was back up and running... it got stolen though... lotsa $...
there's also been reference to the divider plate not sealing entirely... it is possible that an improper seal can cause scavenging to carry over to the dump tube, causing a vacuum and loss of flow....
that does look purdy clean .... the exhaust will pretty much have no bends... the resonator alone is a lil more than 100, the muffler is around 100, and the piping is just under 100
I've had experience doing bodywork in the past... if anything it's time consuming and requires a good...
